Actor Carmen Duncan, 76, dies of cancer
Australian actor Carmen Duncan has died after a battle with cancer.
The 76-year-old, best known for her roles in the films Harlequin and Don't Let It Get To You, died over the weekend, Nine News reported on Sunday.
Born in Cooma in 1942, Duncan appeared in many Australian TV shows including Number 96, Homicide, Cop Shop, Skyways, A Country Practice, The Flying Doctors and Winners and Losers.
In the 1980s, Duncan moved to the US and worked on various TV shows. She later had a scholarship named in her honour at the American Arts Film & Television Academy.
Later in life, Duncan was an ambassador for the Royal Hospital for Women.
Australian singer and TV presenter David Campbell tweeted: "So sad to hear of the lovely Carmen Duncan passing. She indeed was a beautiful soul. RIP."
Duncan is survived by her two children, Amelia and Duncan, and her sister, Paula, who is also an actor and twice won the Logie for most popular actress.
