love the Gallery, always something new to see and very accessible with helpful staff.
Great day sharing excellent pieces of artwork.
Went to the Cartier Exhibition after reading reviews and went around 2pm today, Saturday 14 July. A...fter driving around for 20 minutes finally found somewhere to park. There were four adults and my 77 year old mum in our group. Parking was non-existent in the precinct of the gallery so opted for the car park diagonally opposite. Got in and joined the long queue to get in. Alarm bells were well and truly going off by this stage as there were people everywhere. Finally got in to the exhibition and we were packed in like sardines. After three minutes in the exhibition mum started to have a panic attack. Fortunately one of your team in the exhibition could see the state mum was in and quickly ushered our party out. After sitting outside for about twenty minutes mum was ok. My counsel to anyone planning on a nice event don't go to this, particularly on a weekend if you have elderly loved ones with you. A very expensive lesson learnt so hopefully this review saves others from the grief that was our experience. I don't expect a reply or an apology from the gallery let alone any form of a refund as it looks to me to be a revenue raiser judging by the volume of people crammed in there. आणखी पहा

#funfact: Clement Meadmore named his iconic NGA Sculpture Garden commission after another Australian expatriate artist, Virginia Cuppaidge. Its rusted Corten steel, bold lines and sense of timeless confidence, fits perfectly at home amongst our beautiful gnarled gum trees – a thoughtful embodiment of the Australian landscape.

'I carry the flower with me like the most quintessential Australian symbol, a return to a more pagan and traditional symbiosis between man and the natural world… My body has become like a sculpture and armature to carry my creations and unique finds from trawling through vintage fashion stores and, trust me, they are as unique as the flowers. I think of the flowers as a particular Australian palette and have composed them in my mind this way.' Christian Thompson fuses man and botanicals in 'Earth/Sky', now open 10am – 5pm daily, Level 1, FREE – nga.gov.au/earthsky
