    So the question is for the future: Will the UK be ready by 2021 (end of Brexit transition) and skilled-up to deal with what could be a sudden drop-off in workers in some areas? Or do people want to trade-off more costs in some areas in return for lower migration?

    So the UK has to find the money to raise wages to make those jobs more attractive to British citizens - which would raise costs for end customers/tax payers - and/or invest more in training for those jobs.

    Now... boring lengthy early economics lecture from me I'm afraid. Some of the people the UK needs - such as some NHS jobs, care sector etc - pay below a proposed salary threshold of £30k.
