Enjoyed this interview of Michael Anton on Trump’s foreign policy. Good criticism of Trump’s critics, but weak case for Trump’s alternative, which lacks a conception of the “national interest” that it brashly pledges to defend.

Outstanding analysis by of ICC’s Afghanistan Decision. The ICC's “practical realities” of needing support & cooperation have led it to lower its ambitions to focus on cases that can “succeed.” Ie pretty much the ICC the USG wanted in 1999.

I wasn't commenting on indictment. But on that: The legal worry for journalists--I don't know the answer--is whether, under USG theory here, you conspire to commit computer crimes when you urge sources to give you password-protected classified info, which does happen alot.

Interesting article on pre-publication review. A few years ago I co-published a piece on the CIA's pre-publication review board which gives a bit of context to this -

Important lawsuit filed by challenging the constitutionality of the USG's wildly overbroad and undisciplined system of prepublication review.

I'm grateful to Sue Biniaz for this excellent discussion about the history of the climate policy process, and for her hugely informed and nuanced takes on the Paris Agreement and Trump's impact on it. I learned a ton.
