No one likes a show off but we’re prepared to look the other way after we spotted this driverless metro train being tested on the skytrain high above the north west. There we were, minding our own business on a perfect Sydney autumn afternoon, staring out the back window of our train between Rouse Hill and Tallawong, when its buddy passed by in a display of fully-automated one-upmanship. Sydney’s new metro trains have now completed more than 245,000km of testing. Sydney Metro opens 26 May.
