WORK EXPERIENCE (for secondary students)
APPLICATIONS FOR 2019 WILL OPEN ON DECEMBER 1, 2018
News Corp’s Victorian newspapers offer a work experience program for Victorian secondary school students in Years 10, 11 and 12.
Work Experience places are strictly limited and available only on selected weeks which have been predetermined by the company between April and October.
In 2019, the program will be offered during some school holiday weeks.
Students will spend their week learning about various careers within the media industry, with a focus on journalism.
Areas covered in the week include:
Journalism
Photography
Production
Students will spend time at the Herald Sun in Southbank.
Please be aware that work experience places at the Herald Sun are highly sought after and extremely limited. We receive hundreds of applications for just 20 openings and selection is based on the questionnaire included in the application. Unfortunately, just lodging an application will not guarantee a place.
Also, if you are successful in your application but can no longer attend your allocated work experience week, please notify us straight away so we can offer the placement to another applicant.

CLOSING DATE
Applications for the 2019 program will close on January 31, 2019.
Work experience placements will be assigned by the middle of February 2019. We will notify successful and unsuccessful applicants by the end of February, 2019.
