It’s official - 76 is the worst game I just can’t stop playing

Hey, no 76 crashes this evening! Only one game breaking bug where I had no quests, but a full log out and then back in again fixed it. Progress!

Gah, third complete 76 crash for tonight. Lose so much progress each time and you can’t even save.

This totally makes sense, but I wish I was just told this rather than constantly being upsold something I didn’t need.

Many emails later, support tried to charge me thousands for a solutions engineer to figure it how to enable two of their own features together???!!? I’ve since read in their support forums that it isn’t possible to enable them together.

Disappointed with support. Tried to use their Load Balancer and Railgun together. They seems to conflict and it didn’t look to me like they were compatible with each other.

PiP in chrome 70 is very, very useful! I can stop trying to awkwardly place and resize a youtube page in the corner of my screen every day.

Huh. The Haunting of Hill House is gripping, unique and fascinatingly put together. I’m not usually a fan of horror, but I’m so glad I gave this a chance. It turned out to be perhaps my favourite show this year. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like it.

Is.. is it wrong that when my daughter needs the birds and bees explained to her, I’m planning on queuing up Big Mouth on Netflix-Disney, an Amazon Company (as it’ll be called then) and letting it do the job?

The 3rd party data access problem isn't going away and it desperately needs a better solution than this. I hope other companies don't follow this example.

My thoughts would have been that Google could provide much more granular data access, or perhaps implement something on Google cloud for processing the data so that it never leaves Google's servers.

It may not be quite as bad as it looks from that blog post - there appears to be lots of exceptions for how data is handled. But still, it's a worrying development and I would have expected something cleverer from Google.

I predict that after < 2 years, Google will shut down Gmail API access entirely citing lack of adoption. It's not like Google have a good track record on keeping things alive with low adoption.

I also don't trust that even if you pass this assessment, Google will keep the ecosystem alive. It's not like there's huge money to be made on most Gmail apps. This cost will cut 99% of them out of the marketplace.

But it's not going to be cost effective for most companies and doesn't bode well for the ecosystem long term. We were working on a Gmail app which I'm scrapping, of perhaps making Enterprise only.

It's a difficult problem. I guess it's good they haven't taken Instagram's approach and just cut off API access.

Oof Google are requiring a 3rd party security assessment costing $15-75k+ for access to consumer gmail APIs, per app! Future changes may require additional reviews.

After all the negativity for , I'm surprised by how much I like it. There's a few poor eps early on, but I want to keep watching. It's familiar but also new in many ways. Much like Futurama the humour is situational, rather than loud out loud funny. Very enjoyable.
