  4. This defense is that of a child, caught with his hand in the cookie jar, complaining that his brother took cookies, too. It never works. And it 100% factually wrong to boot.

  5. Reupping NYT piece about conspiracy. It's not a defense for Trump to say "I never gave the $50m condo to Putin." If he conspired w/Cohen to do it (and of course we don't know yet the facts), he's guilty of conspiracy. Conspiracy all about UNCOMPLETED acts

President's lawyers think it was unfair for Mueller to ask questions of the President without first informing the President that he should tell the truth because Mueller might have evidence to show false answers were false.

  12. Everyone is rightly focused on how Cohen’s plea shows Trump to be a liar. But also worth noting that it is extremely bad news for Don Jr, as excellent reporting below makes clear.

  15. The only way Whitaker could get that advance notice was if he is cleared from his multiple bias issues by the Ethics Office. For them to so conclude such a thing given what Whitaker has previously said about this specific investigation would be, well, shocking. Release the memo.

  16. House Dems should say right now if these docs not produced by tmrw they will, come January, defund the Office of the Atty Gen+other select DOJ offices (I can think of a few particularly deserving ones). Whitaker &WH are acting like Russians, not part of a representative democracy

Protecting the Mueller investigation has bipartisan support, yet Republican leadership will not work with us to get this passed. We must preserve the integrity of this investigation. It’s not about politics - it’s about the future of our democracy.

Trump lies. And surrounds himself with liars. Then lies about the liars.

So if Trump's lawyer lied to Congress about Trump's Russian business dealings, including his conversations with Trump and his family on those topics, why didn't they correct the record? Are we supposed to believe they weren't aware of his lies?
