Peace Of Mind/Anomie split LP

This record was a bit of surprise for me because both bands on it are not my usual cup of tea and I ended up loving both of 'em. Both bands were quite "soft" for my taste back then and Anomie were of the emo bunch which I never could fully digest, but this record led me to buying two more LPs and an 7" of P.O.M. and unfortunately only one 7" by Anomie. I cannot rationally explain why I love both of these bands, but if you ever get a chance to buy something by them I cannot recommend it enough.
You can notice in the tracklist that two of the songs are done by AnomiePeaceOfMind which was supposed to be collaboration of both bands, but ended up only with Anomie people and Jobst from P.O.M. due to other bandmates not being able to make it. Also the song "I Want My Life (And I'll Get It!)" is labeled "Disconcience" in the booklet if this means anything to anyone.

Ex-Cathedra/Machine Gun Etiquette/Nutcase 3-way split LP

I've planned to rip this record for quite some time now, but it always somehow slipped under the radar. Since Ex-Cathedra were mentioned in the last post and also a friend of mine kicked off with his Nečista Savjest blog after ten month break with their "2x4=" CD (which contains their songs from this record) it's about time to give it to you.
As you probably know, Ex-Cathedra were great punk/ska band from Glasgow, Scotland and are most known band of the three. After their disbanding, the members played in Fleas & Lice and all-star dub/punk supergroup Suicide Bid (actually it's more of a collective than band that also features people from King Prawn, The Filaments, P.A.I.N, Inner Terrestrials, Deathskulls, Sonic Boom 6...). I'm not in the mood for writing biography, so you'll have to do with this (it's google translated from czech).
Machine Gun Etiquette (called after The Damned album) were their hometown (drinking) buddies and they've quite often exchanged members which resulted in them playing punk with a bit of ska here and there too. They had split 10" with Juggling Jugulars, later became Scunnered and that's about all I could find out 'bout them.
Nutcase were from Kiel, Germany and I like them least. Some songs are OK - some not and scottish punks take the win here. I guess that this record was another product of a couple of bands touring together. The label Trapdoor Recordz who released this is also from Kiel.
OK. Now go 'n' get it.

Day By Day "We Need More Than Your Compassion" 7"

This post gave me the idea for posting Day By Day 7" again. Short info on the band is in the previous post. I'm lazy to write anything else than this. Well, except maybe that the previous 7" posted here is better in my opinion (but it doesn't mean that this one is bad).
Still haven't fixed the player problem (if anybody knows reliable mp3 host lemme know), so here's another video of
live performance of a song from this 7".

Inferno "Hibakusha" LP

This is the second album from this German hardcore punk legends. They were formed in small Bavarian City of Augsburg in 1982 and they relased most of their stuff on singer Howie's label. There's no info on the LP of year when it was released. Some sites say 1985 and some 1986, but I reckon it's the later. I'm a bit lazy now writing about them and I'll just copy/paste text from Destiny records who have re-released all of their stuff on 2CD discography (which you MUST get of course):
In the Mid-80ties INFERNO were a worldwide well known (the most known) Hardcore Band from Germany, especially known in USA, Japan, Brazil,... but also in (former socialist) Yugoslavia, in Australia or Malaysia. The group tours all over Europe, as an active cell of the continental Hardcore-network, a network which reaches from the Basque Country up to Helsinki, from Amsterdam to Athens, from Bristol to Belgrade; Thrash- and Speedmetal-Acts such as Hirax, Slayer, Anthrax or S.O.D name INFERNO as one of their biggest influences in several interviews and features.
Here you can read the interview from Ox Fanzine #73 (in German).

Day By Day "Ganz Was Feines?" 7"

Great political hardcore punk band from Karlsruhe, Germany.
I have only two of their 7"s and don't know if they had anything else out, but both of their record covers deal with animal liberation just like a lot of their lyrics too. Their members later formed Lost World and the singer Tati (with incredible raspy voice if you haven't heard it yet. One of my favourite female vocalists) was part of crust punk "supergroup" project Endrophobia with Kelly from every great punk band in the world (you know who that is).
Since the site where I keep mp3s for the player gives me shit lately I cannot put mp3s for you to have a preview so go here and see live performance of a song from this record.

Contramenation s/t 7"

Contramenation were German anarcho punk band influenced with the UK bands from the 80s and they sound a bit "Subhumansish" to me. They sing in english because their singer is english (if I got it right, because that's written in german) and he writes the lyrics. It's funny to see that strong anti-CD attitude today, but I havent had CD player until '97 too. I think that this is their first record and it has one of my favourite record covers. Don't you just wanna slap this cop's face? I know I do.
