Back from the bloody dead again ? just for this , where it all began

this is available from antisociety records of london, i also have some copies and have resurrected the label name fior this and for this only .

REALITY CONTROL - 'Document 1980 - 1985' LP and CD package

Reality Control were a much overlooked and under-rated politically aware punk band from Newcastle upon Tyne who existed from 1980 - 85

From the outset the band had the anger and intensity (both lyrically and musically) ,with creative songwriting arrangements and an ingenuity that stood them out from the crowd in this 'anarcho punk' era.

In those 5 short years the band's sound developed and diversified greatly, always interesting and a truly unique beastcoming from the Tyneside's anarchist and music collectives to touring with the likes of Alternative, Chumbawamba and No Defences

This release documents almost every song the band ever recorded, including the 'Reproduction of Hate' 7" EP (1983) 'Within These Walls' split flexi disc (1984)numerous compilation tracks and cassette releases plus their unreleased final recording aka '3rd demo' from 1985.

Lovingly restored and mostly from the original master tapes, exhaustive and extensive this collection has been some years in the making and here we are 30 yearson from their previous vinyl release, the music and words sound as stark, fresh and as relevant as ever, with new artwork lyrics and liner notes included .

the vinyl LP has 12 tracks, and these are replicated on the CD along with the other recordings we couldnt cram onto the vinyl and in their original order.

Cd available separately also .

CD is 80 mins

fe 38 was a UK format 'Beyond the Screams' vhs tape (just in time for vhs to become out of date!), a film on latino /chicano punk by Martin Sorrendeguy

Beyond the Screams

and the final release fe 39  was the 'Reason to Believe' benefit comp cdr in 2003.

fe-re 2 - sedition - 'end in the beginning'
fe-re 3 - pleasant valley children - 'welcome to bedlam valley '
fe-re 4 - boxed in - '2001 - 2005'
(a collaboration with fabric 77 and push down and turn)

(i still have copies of the pvc and boxed in cd's kicking about if you want to actually buy them, or  free with some distro crap)
in 2010 there were 2 vinyl reissues due to popular demand (?!) : fe 21 - doom 'rush hour of the gods' lp fe 13.666 - health hazard 'discography' lp both sold out but you might find copies on diy distros around the world, you might not , who cares.
It's been quite a nostalgic time goin through all this stuff, brought back good and bad memories both , some stuff stands the test of time better than others but all of it feels like it was from a lifetime ago now , I feel great relief at putting it all to rest. time to look forward again!
lotsa love n that to all

FE 01 : GENERIC 'For a Free and Liberated South Africa' 7" EP
released March 1986, 5 Songs, 2300 made.

...One day in the summer of 1985 i recieved an ep by S.A.S, a diy hardcore punk record out of Scarborough! (not london) - for me at least that was the moment , the impetus - after much cassette copying and a flexi disc with our old bands it was time to step up to the hard vinyl -  we can do this ! This was recorded just before xmas 1985 at 'Desert Sounds' ( called 'desert 'cos it didnt have running water!) in Felling  with that grumpy engineer Ian - im not even sure what equipment we took as we didnt have any of our own , 'The Station' had been closed down for gigs a few months before though im guessing the equipment was still kept there , or somewhere in Gateshead, a bloke called Nigel who lived a few doors up at Brighton Grove gave us a lift in his van, Michael B came along for techical assistance and knowledge, an old friend and housemate,  Michael had worked on a scheme at Spectro Arts studio in the early 80's, engineering and producing recordings of his band Reality Control there as well as other local bands and artists - its his voice at the beginning of the record."..if you think of the countless more useful things to do with a piece of plastic than make a record out of it , then the least we can do is say something useful on it" or however it goes,  we also brought along Sean (from Rhomus of Dooom ) to add some viola to the  'Making a Killing' intro, i remember the studio man geting annoyed about it being 'out of tune' as an exasperated sean tried to explain about 'intonation' which was a long word to me back then , anyway so we rattle through the songs, added the cringeworthy voiceover bits etc, and it was mixed, and boom,  getting home that night and putting the tape on, listening to it one last time that day and feeling quite quite proud of it.  it took 3 more monthsfor the record to surface, we didnt have quite enough money, a few more pooled giros later and we finally did get it pressed, still didnt have the money to get it delivered though , thankfully our friend Slob had a train pass and kindly went all the way to london to cart 2 big heavy boxes back single handedly , hero and legend ! met him off the train then there was a big assembling party in my room, quite a few of us (still a 'collective' at this point ) put 1100 together in a few small hours, as well as the foldout cover there was an insert detailing the costs and details of printers / pressing plant (following on the example set by Desperate Bicycles and Scritti Politti among others) also printed was our statement of intent with the label (see above). There were no distro stalls back then we just went round gigs, shops and demos with a box of records, and despatching friends to do the same.  Some legwork combined with favourable reviews and responses later and the pressing had all but sold out , that money went into a re-press of 1200, people around the country and the whole wide world started to get in touch, tipping the distro into  life, and what was the collective gradually gave way to me and a record label around this point, micky and dave had other areas of interest outside of shouty music and  we'd achieved a lot of what we'd set out to do for sure, not a bad effort.

FE 02 : GENERIC / ELECTRO HIPPIES- 'PLAY LOUD OR NOT AT ALL' - LP
Spring '87. 986 made.

...Our band's 3rd or 4th gig was in Liverpool (Toxteth!) courtesy of our old mate Digger, and this night in 1985 was the debut gig for Electro Hippies! and they were fucking sick as fuck. Simon and I were in regular contact and the idea of this lp came about, North East vs North West ! a co-release with all costs split down the middle, the Hippies recorded their side in July 86, the  Generic side a couple of months later (and a couple of days before that line up of the band split up !) It took until spring 87 to raise the money to get this released, and even then Simon had borrow his dads car to do the merseyside london newcastle round trip, thus saving a few much needed quid on delivery. By this time the lp was much anticipated, only 986 were made, we sold our half in 25 days! the Hippies didnt take that much longer to sell theirs once word got around. John Peel picked up on their epic 'Mega Armageddon Death pt 3' playing it repeatedly on his show and before you knew it Electro Hippies were one of the 1st uk hardcore bands recording a peel session! (great news in a lot of ways, though to me a lot of pointless dogshit got ushered in in 'britcore's wake, anyway thats a rant for another day..)  A year or 2 later the Hippies side of this split came out as 'Play Fast or Die' 12" on necrosis records ( run by Jeff, ex hippies vocalist and by then of Carcass fame), which was manufactured and distributed by Earache records . I wasn't best pleased at the time as a re-press of this lp would have helped our diy label out a lot with its rubbishcash flow and all, but there you go , fair enough. Front cover Jeff found in a book, not entirely sure the story behind it , back cover photo by M T Scott, Molesworth, from huge peace protest circa 1984.

FE 03 : GENERIC "The Spark Inside" 7" EP
Dec '87 in collaboration with Looney Tunes of Scarborough. 2000 + copies

.. so Generic reformed with  new lineup in spring 87, we had our first taste of european touring  with 2 memorable trips to Holland/ Belgium with Electro Hippies,as  well as a music collective trip to Norway!) we then recorded this ep, another collaboration, this time with Looney Tunes (still going ! - total lifers :  massive distro including all the f.e leftovers - http://www.myspace.com/loonytunesrecords) . What a week,  on the friday I saw / felt SWANS in Leeds, saturday was MDC in Liverpool, on the sunday Set and I hitch hiked back to Newcastle just in time to see the RHYTHM PIGS, and on the monday Simon and I went to see CELTIC FROST at the city hall - so my ears were well and truly prepared for 2 days of recording and mixing ! The label had gained a bit of momentum  and we actually had enough money to release this by the end of the year, this time round we didnt take anyone to desert studio who 'knew what they were doing' ,and we came out with this bloody horrible racket. We were involved in the Westside music collective now, 3 of the band being on community programme scheme along with our doley mates ! (and  since the legendary Gateshead collective had disbanded) -  we practiced in a wooden shed in Lemington. The first 1000 copies had this red colour print , 2nd pressing had a sickly orange colour. Cover photo is the back of my head overlooking Bergen, Norway - the label has a pic of us wandering about some woods round there ,pretty black metal huh ? and thus ends the f.e tyneside trilogy...

FE 04 : GENERIC 'Torched' 7" EP
(2000 made - spring 89)
.
..twas the summer
of 1988 and I'd had enough of the toon and got the fuck away - to sunny Leeds!  The label wasnt a big priority at this time, Generic changed line up a few times over this period of and became a mostly Leeds based band,  chummy with the Chumbas and everything, Boff and Mave agreed to come help out in the studio,  our  new guitarist Nick wrote all the songs on here and we  had become more melodic, this was our final line-ups only recording before splitting a couple of months later . (we had more songs ,  its too bad they didnt get recorded..) 'Torched ' was recorded at Lion studios of leeds with the legendary Andy Tillison (hero!)  another abiding memory of this session is Dave aka Mave's 'Shark Sandwich' homemade TAP t-shirt, genius!  I had to borrow 200 quid off me mum to get this pressed, the only time i borrowed money off anyone for the label, ever. It sold quickly and debts were paid off, but the label became even less of a priority as being homeless was a bit more a concern around this time . Cover photo by Dallas, illustrations by Sarah.

FE 05 : ONE BY ONE 'World on Fire' 7" EP
(2000 made in autumn '91)

...Micky had been a housemate and band mate before Blood Robots and in the 1st Generic line up, he had thought up the name 'flat earth' for the collective too,  Alec was a little younger and full of enthusiasm, not only for the band but for the label , distro and beyond  - this was infectious . They  had a load of songs written but no drummer, and one day they decided to drive down from Newcastle to show up at our squat door, on spec . Headhunted! I was a bit burnt out but thought  I'd better humour them , a quick  practice at sillyville later and we were a going concern, things got moving pretty fast and a few months later we're recording in studio 64 Middlesborough with the awesome michael and christine, this was a demo to begin with but it came out good enough to make a record ,  John Peel played the whole side of the ep repeatedly and read out the labels address 3 times in a row to make sure you got it written down ! a session followed which was a laugh and a whole other story (as well as paying for the van to stay alive)  as for the label - enter sir Alec,  A true comrade, he  rejuvenated the label and distro via trading the 2nd 1000 pressinge worldwide while I was in New Zealand for half a year (vaguely considering emigration ?)  based around the 1in12 club, Bradford was more  interesting than Leeds to us at this point, both I and Alec had relocated there , and  When I returned in spring 92  we'd made our minds up to take the label / distro /  band thing on together, and properly (and so begin the so called 'golden years' !!! ) cover photos  by Sarah Bag, ICI chimneys in Middlesborough, song titles written on clear plastic in tippex  (somewhere between the cut and paste / desktop publishing eras)

FE006-12 were in collaboration with Nabate Recs of Liege, Belgium, thats in the Waloon (French speaking) part , and has 2 rivers so we'd always get lost there. proper comrades and life long friends for sure .
http://nabate.blogspot.co.uk/
A connection was made in the early 90's between some people in Bradford, Liege and Glasgow via bands, tours and records but mostly via friendship, and for a while this consumed our lives ..

FE 06 : DISAFFECT "An Injury to One is an Injury to All" 7" EP (1992, 2000 maybe ?)

Raging new band from Glasgow, and a breath of fresh air after the doldrums of 1990/91 (to me at least), angry and shouty was back ! Nabate did all the work for this as well as pay for it , we just got our name put on the back, took a load of copies and got them out there via distro stalls and touring, slowly building up our empire!  (along with leftover/ unwanted /  unsold copies of the PINK TURDS IN SPACE / SEDITION lp on 'real to real' records and the 'War Cry ' 12" by DISASTER on 'tone deaf' records that we picked up from backs of cupboards and damp corners of Glasgow and Belfast) getting us into the postion of financing future releases without too much delay, Nabate and ourselves taking turns with the costs per release, and wih Active distribution entering the picture around this point too, beginnings of a network!   Lyrics printed in English and in French.

FE 07 : ONE BY ONE "Fight" 7" EP
(2000 made '93) U.S press of 500 on Gern Blandsten early '94

...Enough money in the pot now to record and press this ep - my  favourite ONE BY ONE record for sure, with Karin joining on vocals in spring '92 another dimension was added to the sound, and as a  4 piece we were getting tighter and better through regular gigging and touring, so we were well ready by october when we returned to Studio 64. We had samples at the ready and added keyboards too ! Cut and paste layout and interesting (and economical ) cover design. Gern Blandsten kindly pressed up another 500 copies the following year to generate interest in the U.S for our short tour there in spring 94 , (we bought vaccum cleaners for £100, and got free plane tickets! after a ridiculous scramble for tickets the manager guy at Hoover  u.k got fired, it was quite a newsworthy story at the time , as far as i know we were the only band to tour on the back of it !  Ironically our 1st gig was with the band HOOVER. Well, I thought it was funny anyway.. was a bit jet lagged tho.)

FE 08 : SEDITION 'Earthbeat' LP
(3500 made - 1000 in Hessian Sacks! Spring 93)

Wow , the first release that wasn't of our own band (and that we'd paid for!) this was always a plan from the start, to release our friends bands stuff, took 7 years to get there but here we have it - a key moment in the labels evolution, for the past year we had been building up to this, the biggest, most ambitious  project yet! a full lp release with  big booklet of lyrics, art, explanations and more, a good balance of music and numerous samples drawing parallels with a tribal histories past and life in the punk rock modern times.  Sedition had put a lot of time effort and thought into writing and arranging this, we had become very close friends, our bands spending time together sharing tours in mainland europe and Ireland as well as the uk. We booked into Studio 64 for 4 days to record/ mix/put together/everything while commuting to and from Newcastle each day. We were on a deadline to get this released in time for tour, money was tight as always and there was no room for mr cockup! so of course the booklet artwork got finished on the very last day of deadline, and they only sent 34 pages  as i discovered on the train to Sheffield and Juma printers the fuckin numptys! (Martin / juma printers - heroes , and totally tolerant of our sometimes ridiculous requests , they mostly print football fanzines and are still active (call 'em if you need a quote, say hi ! -0114 272 0915).  I had to make up the middle pages there and then, just blew up the album cover design and pasted it ( its the word 'sedtion' in ogam script) and so to the album cover,  the band wanted it screenprinted on hessian (aka burlap) sackcloth, it would look very 'earthy', for sure . after seeking  advice from Ben of Zoviet France ( experimental group who have made releases with various packaging including hessian ) who happened to live downstairs from Micky and Karin, seeing all the wonderful pieces of art they produced we set about our task,  we found  a market stall in Bradford that sold rolls of the stuff and were able to make  a big order through them, next job was cutting it into 12 x 24 sheets, then hand screen printing, and then sewing them together! I broke down in tears after attempting to sew up just 23 covers, it was fucking madness, madness to a deadline!  this stuff just gives off such particles and dust i can still smell/taste it, eternal gratitude as Alec really got into trooper mode and did 95 percent of the work here (as well as developing a wheeze) never, never, never again. Despite all that we were immensly proud to help out in realising this impassioned, intelligent statement and concept, in my eyes at least it is a classic, an LP that had to happen (and a normal cardboard lp cover was used for the re-presses phew!).

FE 09 : SEDITION / DISAFFECT SPLIT EP
(2000 copies)

After the 'earthbeat'
lp caper (see above)  this was a piece of piss! for one thing Nabate took care of all the pressing, printing and costs, The two bands were close so a split record seems like a no brainer : from Glasgow and very much part of a wider family / community / 'scene'. Sedition's songs were recorded at the same time as the LP, and were all covers, including a Disaffect song. Disaffect returned the compliment by covering a Sedition song on their side. The Sedition songs didnt make it onto the discography cd due to lack of space so are a bit of an exclusive here as the record is long ,long since sold out .

FE 10 : HIATUS / DOOM SPLIT EP
(5000 copies) '93

'Monsters of Crust'

..following on from the last release here's another split ep where the bands cover each others songs. The Doom songs were recorded at In A City studios in Bradford with Carl Stipetic (see:later releases ) at the same time as some other split release (Selfish and ?)  and compilation songs they did, Hiatus were from Liege and a part of the scene that  Nabate were involved with so again, another no brainer, again all friends. No big drama with the printing or pressing other than right when this release arrived and ready to go out into the world our old  mail address in Leeds went under quite suddenly (the box numbers and names at '52 Call Lane'  that many people assumed was a squat or something was simplysome cardboard boxes in the corner of the offices of 'leeds other paper' latterly 'the northern star', and was used by numerous bands , political groups, zines etc) this fucked a lot of people up, and it could  take literally  years for people across the globe to know of the address change, they'd just have their mail returned at best , lost or stolen otherwise .  For us it meant making thousands of stickers and placing them on every cover, every (in the Doom /Hiatus case ) label, and everywhere the address appeared on every release, total pain in the arse.  redirecting to our new Bradford p.o box address we'd managed to blag onto, the address for Doom, 'Bradford music?' and latterly Enslaved recs among others. 1st pressing has the Leeds address with a sticker over it on the label record nerds ! Oh, and it went on to sell 5000 copies, the most any of f.e releases ever sold  - always a good one for trades as I remember . Doom side cover artwork - 'lost the fight' by Simon Gane, who used to do 'Arnie' zine, chec kout his stuff here http://simongane.blogspot.jp  . Doom have re-formed and (unlike a lot of old bands getting backtogether) they completely kick arse  : www.doomcrustpunk.com/ .

FE 11 : KITCHENER 'The Price of Progression ' EP (93)
(2000 copies)

What a band - I'm just glad we were there and able to capture some of their energy before implosion, previously known as 'Stalemate' and 'Bodybag', we were blown away by the ferocity of the attack from these unassuming young men , its all a blur and didn't last long i'm trying to recall in what order, saw them first in Bolton 1992 and just..  well you knew you were seeing something special,  smart and sussed kindred spirits, the members of Kitchener were active in the underground / squatting scene going on in Hulme with a focus on the '125' venue , 2 ( or 1 , correct me ) flats knocked together to make a venue, some  amazing times were had there, empowerment and creativity in the bleakest surrounds and encompassing the varied  strands of punk/ hardcore/weirdo. Health Hazard and Kitchener toured in europe together, I used to love watching the crowd watching Pete on the drums as the chaos ensued and the jaws dropped.  This ep was recorded at studio 64 over a couple of sessions and includes an extensive 24 page book cover / reading material. booklet printed by Juma and i'm pretty sure the artwork rolled in at the last minute before some tour, a co-release with refusenik, Tim's label, though we did the donkey work and the forking out ! Refusenik got behind some other good records around this time you should seek out , esp the uk hardcore 7" comp and the Manchester  flexi, both featuring Kitchener songs not on this ep .   The ep got reviewed in the NME, we laughed our heads off at the slagging off ('sounds like it was made by seven year old multiple amputees  / they'll end up working in dixons' etc ) at the hands of Steven Wells, must have done something right ot piss that tosser off .

--------------------------------------------------------------

FE 12: UNHINGED - 'Resisting the Murder of Self ' - 7" EP (93)
( 2000 copies)

Unhinged hailed from Liege and this was the band of Alain and Manu of the label ( along with Wills and Ben, also of Hiatus) , Nabate Recs did all the work here, The band name came about apparently via myself or Chris in some random conversation about mutual friend Azil (?)  and it does describe them well,  a dark record coming from some depths of despair and pain, a dark, early raw 'emo' in the truest, original sense quality herein. recorded pressed and printed in Belgique, with lyrics in English and French, Nabate made a cassette version of the release with 4 more songs, Unhinged went on to tour the UK, Europe and the U.S and make 2 amazing lp's, both on Nabate and  highly recommended of course !

FE 12.5 : SEDITION / PINK TURDS IN SPACE SPLIT LP
(1000 on 'Real to Real' 1990 / 2000 more in 93/94)

'Celt-core'

Glasgow vs Belfast  - one of the truly great split lp's of the era, originally released by 'Real to Real' records in 1990, a label started by Gus and Brycey from Sedition via the enterprise allowance scheme, the label failed to take off and this was their only release. After rescuing a load of unsold copies from cupboards and under beds in Glasgow we got busy trading and selling it (to raise money to release the Sedition 'Earthbeat' LP) and when they were all gone we re-pressed it, twice - the first time with a rough side out cover.  the Pink Turds in Space side has recently been reissued on vinyl by Antisociety records ( along with their 'greatest shits' 12"on In your Face records) as part of their discography.

--------------------------------------------------------------

FE 13 : HEALTH HAZARD 'TEN INCH' (2000 copies) 1994

As well as playing together in One by One and running the label, Alec and I played guitar and Drums in Health Hazard, we only existed for 2 short years but packed a lot of touring into that time, we had an ep called 'Not Just a nightmare' released on Minstrel records of Paris, France by the mysterious Lorenzo! We'd recorded it at Studio 64 where most label stuff had been recorded up to this point. For the ten inch we debuted at 'In a City' studios ( the old building on Canal Road) in Bradford run by the legendary Carl Stipetic.  Bri from Doom came along for technical assisitance, as we were fairly clueless and also were impressed with recent recordings by Doom from there. So , the first thing that happened was Alecs guitar breaking, no problem as he borrowed Bri's, however this guitar was tuned lower ( to 'D' not 'E' ) and there wasnt a key for the locking nuts! So.. we end up recording in a different key to how we'd been practicing and playing live, at first it sounded odd as fuck but we got used to it in the end. Ten inch record covers cost a fortune to make, as its an odd size - the setting up charges etc , fortunately We found a local printer that could make poster sized covers quite cheaply, we just had to fold them allourselves! Alec got busy on the poster ( strongly influenced / ripped from the 'Autogeddon' book by Heathcote williams) and there it is!  When it came time to re-press it we discovered that the master plates had been destroyed in a fire, unlucky 13! it was as cheap to reissue this as a discography lp with the '...Nightmare' 7" and the 4 songs from our last recording on the other side, which got the catalogue number FE 13.666 : HEALTH HAZARD 'Discography' LP (1996 - 2000 copies) the whole lot got re-re-released along with all SUFFER stuff a few years later on Prank Records as a discography CD (2000 copies) and latterly the Discography lp got a f.e reissue of 500 copies in 2011 with different artwork and a couple of extra songs.

FE 14 : WITCHKNOT - 'Suck' EP  (2000 copies) 1994

'no more guitar heroes'

Witchknot had stepped up from 3 piece to a 6 piece by the time this was recorded at In a City, they had strings and everything ! these ladies were deemed not 'punk' enough for an MRR review! such was the way of the mid-90's (how times have changed), this didnt sell so well as the previous releases, I'm  guessing people had f.e down as a 'shouty music' label, which was never the case ideas are what matter to us not a music genre based thing or a popularity contest !  this record is punk as fuck by the way!IMHO! I dont have any amusing stories about the recording session, I wasnt there  - Alec had become more involved in that side of things by now  Once again we went for the big foldout poster cover!

FE 28: SOLANKI - 'BUZZ OR HOWL UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF LEEDS 6' - 10"
(1000 copies)

"SOLANKI are almost like a homage to the MINUTEMEN, and the fact that they've been able to pull it off with ease is high praise in itself. Spread across these 10 inches is 13 tracks of incredibly tight and jazzy punk, sitting squarely in D.Boon territory and it's just awesome! Haring along at a crazy pace, tight and controlled, yet chaotic and flowing at the same time.Remember when you first heard the MINUTEMEN's "Double Nickles on the Dime"? Buy this and relive that moment. Just fucking great!" FRACTURE

"This record is the MINUTEMEN and the BIG BOYS playing your backyard BBQ and skate jam. This record is fun." MRR

FE 30: - SUBMISSION HOLD - 'Progress..' CD
(collaboration with Active, who did most all the work - 1000 made )

"I've listened to this about fifty times already and still don't know what to say about it. SUBMISSION HOLD just seem to have this way of combining two extremes (that of brutal, agonising screaming and that of soft as hell, emotional singing) but while holding it all together with an incredible off-beat, jazz punk sound. Look a little deeper and you'll realise that they also use a flute, trumpet, violin and piano too. Of course that could have well ended up as a recipe for disaster, but fortunately SUBMISSION HOLD know what the fuck they're doing. Really, it sounds incredible. Oh yeah, and then there's the awesome booklet that comes with it - a beautifully printed 36 page piece of art with lyrics in English, French and German which put SUBMISSION HOLD's politics on show for all to see. FE 35: V/A 'YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN' - CD
(1999 - 1000 copies)

an experimental compilation with: JALOPAZ, INFINITE LIVES POKE, JAZZFINGER, BLEB, LEOSLAYER, BULLPUP, JERSTICE, SOARTHROAT, DIXIE BLONDE ACTION, STIPETIC, STALINGRAD, HELLFILLER, AMANITA MUSCARIA, JOSHUA NORTON CABAL, BRILLEAUX, CHARLES BASCOMB, ORRIN DE FOREST... "At last the sonic sedition of Alec Empire and his DHR convention  destroying cohorts is finally having an inspirational effect. Fuelled by the original DIY punk ethic, translated into the computer crazy 21st century, here's a bunch of noise-mongers who've joined the riot. It's stun-guns and samplers at dawn - and this time, it's personal. There's no better place for a baptism by hellfire than the various artists on "You're on Your Own". An unconstrained collection of experimental, electronic and guitar driven craziness, If this doesn't fuck with your head, you're in a coma" KERRANG (???!!!)
