The two students were allegedly arguing with each other about 11.15am on Monday, November 12 at Kepnock State High School in Bundaberg.

The Department of Education in a statement said it was aware of the incident.

"Any situation that threatens the safety and well-being of students or others in the school community is treated extremely seriously, and dealt with as a matter of priority," a department spokesman said.

"The school has also implemented a school-wide Positive Behaviour for Learning program
that explicitly teaches students expected behaviours [including anti-bullying].

The 15-year-old accused will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
