  1. AFSPA gives no immunity unlike what people try to make of it. But only the Central Govt can order prosecution. There is simply no immunity from investigation. This aspect was overlooked in 1990 when the experience of hindsight of proxy war conditions was not there

  3. Disagree. The law of averages worked then as it works now. There were brilliant, mediocre and not so competent Generals then as there are now. Perception of the past being better than the present will always exist.

  4. Incorrect. We are a nation under multiple threats. Our security and intelligence agencies have kept the nation secure. There is no absolutism in security. Can a hundred percent be ever guaranteed. Its always work in progress. We can improve a lot no doubt.

  7. Good question. However, AFSPA does not provide immunity from investigation or prosecution. However, for the latter specific approval of the Central Govt is necessary. It means even holding a person in judicial custody is valid. All this was drafted in a hurry in 1990.

    Bhullas are some ofvthe most patient yroops and very righteous. After all even in 1930 in Peshawar they refused to embus for an operation to target the Khudai Khidmatdars. The Regt lost the chance to enhance its tally of VCs earned in WW1
