What's the policy?

Twitter prohibits the promotion of inappropriate content globally.

Examples of prohibited inappropriate content include:

  • Content that is likely to be seen as:

-Threatening

-Violent

-Gruesome

-Abusive

-Shocking

-Disturbing

-Offensive

-Vulgar

-Obscene

-Distasteful

  • Content that is inflammatory or provocative and is likely to evoke a strong negative reaction
  • Content that refers to a sensitive event (e.g. deaths, natural/industrial disasters, violent attacks, civil disorder, etc.) and contains any of the following: personal attacks, hashtag appropriation, the selling of goods/services, political campaigning, or other inappropriate content.
  • Content that glorifies self-harm or related content
  • Profanity
