Quick Promote

Quick Promote lets you quickly and easily promote your best performing Tweets to a larger audience in a few simple clicks from your Twitter profile on web, Android or iOS. It's an ideal solution for self-serve advertisers that would like to promote their Tweets without having to use the Twitter Ads campaign workflow. 

Quick Promote is different than our objective based campaigns and Twitter Promote Mode, where Quick Promote is best for advertisers looking to quickly promote a specific Tweet to extend its total reach. 


Starting your Quick Promote

Users must have a Twitter Ads account to be able to access Quick Promote. Learn how to create a Twitter Ads account.

  1. Log into your @handle on Twitter.com on desktop, iOS, or Android.
  2. Visit your Profile page of your @handle
  3. Find the Tweet you would like to Quick Promote, and click the Tweet Activity button.  This button will show as a three bar line graph
  4. Click the Promote this Tweet button 
  5. Now you'll be directed to the Quick Promote screen. Here you can choose how much you'd like to spend on promoting your Tweet, as well as an estimate of how many impressions and engagements you'll receive from the promotion
  6. Choose the location you'd like your Tweet to serve to. If you are outside of the United States we automatically populate the country you set up your ads account in. If you are in the United States you will be able to specify a State or Metro area. Note: if you'd like to change this location, read our FAQ at the bottom of this page
  7. If you do not have a credit card on file in your ads account, you will be prompted to add your credit card and billing details
  8. Click the Confirm spend button
  9. Your Tweet will begin showing as a promoted Tweet in user's timelines! Note: we serve Quick Promote Tweets to users with interests similar to those of your followers

Viewing your results

You can easily view the results of your Promoted Tweet in real-time on Twitter.com, Android or iOS by clicking on the “View Tweet Activity” icon for any of your Promoted Tweets. 

You can get to your Tweet Activity from Desktop, iOS, or Android by clicking the Tweet Activity button on any of your Tweets. It will show as a bar graph with three lines. 

You can also go to Tweet Activity from your ads account by clicking Analytics and then Tweet Activity.

Note: you will only be able to see the tweet activity data for your own Tweets, and you cannot promote other user's Tweets on their behalf.

  • How is this different than Twitter Ads campaign objectives?

    We offer three solutions for advertising on Twitter, which ones you choose will be based on your advertising goals:

    Objective based campaigns

    This option is best if you have specific advertising goals such as brand awareness, video views, web or app conversions that you'd like to target to a specific audience. Each of our campaign objectives allow you to target customizable user audiences on Twitter, and you will always be able to control your campaign run dates and total budget. You will set up and view the results of your campaigns within Ads manager. See a list of all our campaign objectives here

    • Cost: Total bid and budget set by you
    • Targeting: Custom audiences set by you
    • Ads manager?: Yes

    Twitter Promote mode

    This option is designed for advertisers short on time, who still want to extend the reach of their Tweets for a flat monthly rate. Twitter Promote Mode automates your brand marketing efforts for a set monthly fee, and you'll be able to choose between targeting one geographic region or a specific interest. Your Tweets will be automatically promoted without having to interact or setup campaigns in Ads manager. Learn more about Twitter Promote Mode.

    Quick Promote

    Quick Promote is ideal for advertisers looking to quickly choose the exact Tweets they'd like to promote. Your Tweet will be automatically promoted to the geo location your Ads account is setup in, and Quick Promote is a great way to see if your desired Tweet resonates with users before creating an objective-based campaign. You can Quick Promote your Tweets on your phone or desktop, without having to interact with Ads manager.

    Quick facts: 

    • Cost: Choose between five options ranging from 50 USD and 5,000 USD or your local equivalent
    • Targeting: The country your ads account is set up in
    • Ads manager?: Up to you

  • How do I change the geo location targeting of my Quick Promoted Tweets?

    Your Tweets that you've Quick Promoted will automatically be targeted to the country or region that your Twitter Ads account is setup in. However, you can edit this at any time.

    To change this location: 

    1. Go to ads.twitter.com
    2. Find your Quick Promote campaign in Ads manager. Note: you might have to toggle the date range you're viewing in the top right corner
    3. Click Edit campaign or Quick Edit
    4. Change the geo location to your desired location in the Targeting section of the campaign form
    5. Click Save! From that point, your Quick Promoted Tweet will serve to users who are in that geo location

  • How do I get to my Tweet Activity?

    To start a Quick Promote you must first go to your Tweet Activity.

    You can get to your Tweet Activity from Desktop, iOS, or Android by clicking the Tweet Activity button on any of your Tweets. It will show as a bar graph with three lines. 

    You can also go to Tweet Activity from your ads account by clicking Analytics and then Tweet Activity.

    Note: you will only be able to see the tweet activity data for your own Tweets, and you cannot promote other user's Tweets on their behalf.

  • How do I make edits to my Quick Promoted Tweets such as bid?

    When you start your Quick Promoted Tweet, it will automatically set a maximum bid optimized to reach the estimated impressions and engagements shown to you on the Quick Promote screen. You do not need to set a bid within Ads manager, this will be done for you automatically.

    However, if you'd like to change the bid for any reason you are able to from your Twitter Ads manager. In your Ads manager you will need to select the Quick Promoted Tweet and click on the Edit button. Once selected, you will then be able to configure the current bid for the Promoted Tweet.
