Submissions
Never submit… except to us!
We are looking for more submissions/contributions to the Journal and EF! Newswire. Would you, or someone you know, be interested in sending us writing, photos, illustrations, or poetry?
- Articles can be anywhere from half-a-page to 4 pages (300 to 3000 words)
- Any correspondence below 300 words may be considered for Dear Shit for Brains, our letters to the editor section, unless it is clearly noted “not for publication:
- Articles for the Newswire should include live links, 1-2 images, and short video where possible (click here for more on becoming a regular Newswire contributor)
- Images should be 300 dpi (pictures for Newswire can be smaller)
- Submissions for the Journal should be sent in document format (.odt or .doc work) with pictures attached separately.
Send submissions to collective [at] earthfirstjournal.org, with the words “SUBMISSION FOR JOURNAL” or “SUBMISSION FOR NEWSWIRE” in the subject line.
Or, mail printed/written submissions to: Earth First! Journal, PO Box 964, Lake Worth, FL 33460. Let us know if you need your submission returned to you.
The typical timeline for submission deadlines is:
February 1 (to be considered for Eostar/Spring)
May 1 (for Litha/Summer)
August 1 (for Mabon/Fall)
November 1 (for Yule/Winter)
However, this can change depending on circumstances, so feel free to ask about a specific deadline, and keep an eye on the Earth First! Newswire for calls for submissions.
