Help with twitter.com

Experiencing errors or having trouble accessing Twitter on the web? Please read below for common troubleshooting tips.

Is your browser up to date?

Many issues can be resolved by making sure you're using the most recent version of your browser. If you are unsure of which version you are using, this tool may be able to tell you: https://www.whatsmybrowser.org/.

Information on, and downloads of, the latest version of your preferred browser can be found at the links below:

If a browser upgrade doesn't solve your issue, you can also try downloading an alternate browser using the links above.

Have you tried clearing your cache and cookies?

Clearing your browser cache and cookies may resolve the issue. Instructions can be found here:

Do you have browser add-ons, plug-ins or extensions installed?

Some browser extensions can interfere with actions performed on Twitter.com. Try disabling any browser add-ons you may have enabled (you do not need to delete them completely), which may resolve the issues you are experiencing.

If you use any additional software such as an ad-blocker, we'd suggest turning those off one at a time in case our site is being blocked in some way. If you discover the issue is resolved while an application is turned off, you can then troubleshoot with the settings in that software.

Do you have any third-party connections to your Twitter account?

Sometimes issues can arise through third-party connections to your Twitter account. Visit your Apps settings to review third-party connections and try revoking access for any unnecessary apps. You can read about how to revoke third-party access to your account.
