CONNECTION

As your community center, we provide more than just a wide range of services and programs for LGBTQ youth. We also provide a true home with open doors, where you can drop in to meet and make friends, and feel connected to those who share common experiences.

From dances, open mic nights and the Youth Pride Chorus to gaming groups, movie screenings and drop-in groups, The Center is your foundation for encouraging and furthering your connection to the passion and pride of our city’s LGBTQ community.

LEADERSHIP

Every individual defines success differently, and at The Center we know that having access to leaders and mentors who understand your goals, and the barriers you may face in reaching them, is essential to realizing your potential. We believe in empowering you to build your self-esteem, advance your leadership development and cultivate skills that will support your ability to make positive decisions throughout every stage of your life.

From support with school and work to community involvement and beyond, The Center provides a variety of opportunities of varying commitment levels that are open to our LGBTQ youth community.

SUPPORT

At The Center we understand that, as a young member of the LGBTQ community, you may need support when facing a wide range of potentially overwhelming circumstances and emotions. From issues surrounding coming out and discrimination, to bullying, violence, anxiety, depression, HIV or other health concerns, abuse and other crises, The Center’s staff can provide the support you need.

Here you can meet with counselors who understand what you are experiencing, and connect with other LGBTQ young people to build a support network for sharing experiences. We offer a range of affirming support that includes:

  • One-on-one support
  • Coming out support groups
  • Family counseling
  • Drop-in discussion groups
  • Crisis intervention
  • The Clubhouse, a drug and alcohol free social space
  • Youth community resources
