Joanna Gould

Development Manager

Joanna Gould is an arts manager who is currently based in Brooklyn working with Going Down Swinging in development. She has been working in the creative community in Australia for the last ten years and has a double major in History and Fine Art with a Masters of Art Curatorship. She has held roles as Curatorial Assistant for the Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts, Festival Director of the Gertrude Street Projection Festival and was the previous General Manager of Going Down Swinging.

Megan Anderson

Editor

Megan Anderson is a Melbourne-based writer and editor specialising in arts, culture and development. She writes for publications such as The Saturday Paper, Al Jazeera, news.com.au and Junkee Media (Junkee, AWOL, The Cusp) and copywrites for international NGOs. She has performed creative work at Splinters, Newstead Short Story Tattoo and for The Suburban Review.

Magenta Sheridan

Online Editor

Magenta is an editor, writer and comics enthusiast. She recently completed her honours thesis in creative writing and was awarded the Melbourne Writers Festival Creative Writing Prize. She also edits fiction for Voiceworks, runs creative writing workshops across Melbourne and is trying to turn her perpetually shady verandah into a garden.

Jacqui Hagen

Digital Developer

Jacqui Hagen is Going Down Swinging’s Digital Developer. Jacqui has worked across digital and print publishing for the past decade, writing and editing publications for Thames and Hudson, The Field Institute, and Studio Propeller. Jacqui has worked in communications and design roles for numerous arts and environmental organisations, as well as managing projects that assist communities transition to renewable energy across Australia. Having worked extensively in web design, Jacqui enjoys exploring new and interesting ways of publishing literary content online in her role with Going Down Swinging.

Hollen Singleton

Editorial Intern

Hollen Singleton is a double agent intern, working at both Going Down Swinging and Meanjin. They are a Naarm-Melbourne based writer of fiction and poetry and their work can be found at Scum, Subbed In, Suburban Review and in at least one book of spells. They volunteer-write for Am-Unity and write copy for money. Their Twitter is @faceoddity.

Elizaveta Maltseva

Operations Manager

Elizaveta first joined GDS in 2016 as a feisty young Special Projects Manager. Now she has the daily task of herding the creative cats (GDS editors) as the Operations Manager. She is a practising artist and regularly exhibits in Melbourne and abroad. Elizaveta is the director of international, cross-disciplinary project Return Flight and in the remaining hours of the day she runs Rokeby Studios and Rokeby Gallery. She was born in Moscow, has lived in the south of England and Scotland, and always has her hand on her passports.

Renata Carli

Associate Editor

Renata is a fiction writer, editor and lapsed zine-maker. She was the recipient of the Lord Mayor’s Creative Writing Award and has posted her zines to all corners of the earth. She is currently attempting to read everything on her bookshelf while she completes her master’s degree.

Matthew Tambellini

Marketing and Design Manager

More Studio is a community and culturally driven graphic design practice founded by Matthew Tambellini in his home town of Melbourne, Australia. Having worked independently since beginning of 2015, he has a strong focus on creating outcomes through collaboration and experimentation, working with clients closely from beginning to end, and helping them realise their projects with a unique voice.

Russell Wong

Digital Marketing Intern

Russell Wong has no idea what he is doing with such luminaries on this staff page. He’s just a boy with two pennies in his pocket and a dream of digital marketing (for some reason). He’s worked at one time or another as a digital marketer, a proletariat poet, a senior coach for at-risk teens and as a professional lighting designer and producer – all while finishing his bachelor’s degree. Russell was born in Singapore, living in Vietnam and England before settling with his girlfriend in Melbourne (unless his PR licence doesn’t come through!).

Georgia Coldebella

Editorial Intern

Georgia studied philosophy and literature before setting her sights on the lucrative field of publishing. Most recently she completed her masters in creative writing, exploring fairy tale adaptations as a means to express identity. She dabbles in writing, editing and drawing, has worked with publications from youth magazines to uni journals to litmags, and spends her time trying to adopt other people’s cats.
