IT created a huge stir when the home where the hit TV show The Brady Bunch was listed for sale — and subsequently sold — earlier this year. And now, the future of the house has been revealed.
HGTV bought the property back in August for a reported US$3.5 million for the home — nearly double its US$1.89 million asking price.
The Hollywood company dropped in the monster offer for the home, and in doing so snared it out of the clutches of NSYNC’s Lance Bass — who thought he’d made a high enough offer to score the home.
But Bass’s loss is everyone else’s gain, it would seem, with HGTV issuing a release earlier this week announcing a new renovation series.

So, get ready to tune in to the Bradiest show in 40-odd years, with news the original cast have reunited to kick off production of an HGTV renovation series — set at the iconic television family home.

From all reports, it was a sunshiny day at The Brady Bunch house as six of the legendary sitcom’s original cast members came together for the first time in nearly 15 years to kick-off the show — a full-scale overhaul of the world-famous home.
The working title is A Very Brady Renovation.
And it looks like TV siblings Barry Williams (Greg), Maureen McCormick (Marcia), Christopher Knight (Peter), Eve Plumb (Jan), Mike Lookinland (Bobby) and Susan Olsen (Cindy) will be mucking in to do up the family abode.

There will also be a bunch of celebrity surprise guests — perhaps even Bass — and it is scheduled to premiere in September 2019.
In HGTV’s release they said the famous house will get a ‘70s-inspired rehab that’s sure to have everyone saying, “far out!”

“What’s so exciting about this project is that we are creating one of the most iconic homes from many of our viewers’ childhoods,” senior vice president of HGTV programming and partnerships Loren Ruch said.
“It will be the first time in history that the house from all of our memories will be created in a real brick and mortar location. It is certain to be a trip down memory lane.”
Exterior shots of the real house were often used to establish a sense of time and place for the Brady family.

The gang is getting back together again.
And in the coming months HGTV will execute a show-stopping transformation by adding 2,000 square feet to its original footprint — all without compromising its instantly recognisable street view.
HGTV home renovation stars also will reimagine the popular show’s interior set design, working to ensure that the final renovation results stay true to the spirit of the Brady Bunch family home that everyone loves and remembers, the release said.

“From the unforgettable signature wood-panelled living room with floating staircase to the orange and green kitchen and the kids’ Jack-and-Jill bathroom, The Brady Bunch house will forever hold a special place in television history and American pop culture,” it read.
The original series ran for only five years but has lived on and on in syndication, making it a classic around the globe.
The Bradys’ address was given as 4222 Clinton Way in the original series, although no actual city was ever identified.
The actual address is 11222 Dilling St in Studio City Los Angeles and the period pad is still so well known it has its own high profile Yelp page.
The traditional Californian bungalow was used for all the outdoor shots of the iconic TV family’s abode between September 1969 and March 1974 and — before being purchased by HGTV in August this year — last exchanged hands while the show was still running.
