Pro Bono Program

Working Together for Women Across the Globe

As a global nonprofit that uses the law to advance and defend reproductive rights, the Center works with pro bono attorneys around the world for maximum impact.

From serving as co-counsel on a U.S. Supreme Court case to authoring submissions to the United Nations, law firms have been instrumental to the Center’s success.

Pro bono lawyers work on a range of issues including child marriage, maternal health, access to contraception, and safe and legal abortion.

"DLA Piper is proud to partner with the Center to improve protection of sexual and reproductive health rights. Our staff have a strong commitment to social justice and ensuring the law protects the most vulnerable members of society. Working with the Center on issues such as child marriage gives our lawyers the opportunity to use their skills in a strategic and targeted manner to combat some of the worst violations of human rights facing women and girls."

Emily Christie, Pro Bono Lawyer, DLA Piper

The pro bono program matches law firms with short and long term projects that utilize litigation, research, and transactional skills. Experienced Center attorneys work closely with their pro bono colleagues on all projects.

“The pro bono attorneys with whom I’ve had the privilege to work have been true partners: they are completely committed to our cases, work around the clock, and bring invaluable experience and insight to our litigation.”

Julie Rikelman, Litigation Director
