Propelling the GoGirls Together
Supported by UNDP’s Peace and Community Cohesion project, the GoGirls train volunteer mentors (university students) who support the school children. They focus on computer literacy, basic programming skills, and broader positive life skills. The school children learn to use Scratch, a platform to create stories using graphics and animation.
Chronicles of Ordinary Hopes
A peace dialogue in Duk Padiet included over 100 youth from Gawaar, Lou, Hol and Nyarweng communities who are residing in cattle camps and looking after their cattle at the Toich Swamp area. They agreed to resolutions to stop cattle thefts and ambushes, share pastures and water points, and create a Joint Peace Committee.
Applying Entrepreneurial Lessons for Success
James is a recent graduate of the Entrepreneurship Training Workshop in Aweil, hosted by UNDP and facilitated by master trainers from EMPRETEC Mauritius. The training was funded by the Government of Japan and is part of UNDP’s efforts to restore livelihood and productive capacities as part of an integrated recovery and resilience response.
