Cultural Programme

Melbourne is proud to host the 20th International AIDS Conference and present the most spectacular and wide reaching cultural program ever staged for the conference.

The AIDS 2014 cultural program is brimming with a variety of diverse and unique activities from exhibitions, performance, recitals, public seminars and facilitated conversations, musical theatre, art auctions, candlelight vigils, sport, shopping, fashion parades and so much more.

As dusk falls during conference week, many of the city’s most iconic and heritage buildings will be floodlit red for our Paint the Town Red program, a highly visual declaration of Melbourne’s show of support for the conference, together with a very warm welcome to all delegates and their families.

Visit us at the conference venue – our cultural program welcome desk is opposite the Global Village and we’ll have our program ambassadors on hand to help you plan your cultural itinerary. If you are in the heart of the city, stop by our Guest Lounge next to Melbourne Town Hall where you’ll enjoy a warm welcome and free tea and coffee in a quiet space if you need a little time out.
