    This is so, so wrong. "A concerted vilification campaign"?! I have read and heard multiple horror stories from multiple women for a while now, and it deeply disturbs me that I have known and been friends with this man.

    I did, I accepted, I have been clarifying all day today. I’m exhausted. I just deleted a few responses bec immediately it brought a barrage of rude tweets from others despite clarifying. We’re in the same fight. The narrative is every woman’s, fight it any way you want to. Thanks

    Even if you don’t agree with Raya Sarkar, at least give her due credit for starting the whole conversation. That’s the least you can do. Or is that not a part of journalism ethics?

    You are blaming the women who have been abused & threatened to accept this system. (PS: 'Liberal' / 'Conservative' don't matter bcs sexual harassment is common across, as a 'journalist' you're expected to know this!)

    I am not interested in your liberal bullshit, which is actually a mirror-image of patriarchy. Sexual predators victimise women the most, BUT in every newsroom RUN by sexual predators there are women who rise out of turn, at the expense of other women and men.

    What? Why are u doing this ?? How is responsible, thorough, investigative journalism that holds itself up to ethical standards ‘power hogging by upper caste women’ ???? Safer workplaces for women will make conditions better for everyone including Dalit women. what’s the problem?

    Always be skeptical of power-hogging that upper-caste women do. Raya's list was a 'witch-hunt'. Masala Bai's Google Docs is tr00 feminism.

    The harrassment & assault hasn't been refined or nuanced. It has been cruel, dehumanising & relentless. Weird to expect nuance in the outing. The outing will to be messy. It is a sign of just how bad things have been for women for this long.

    India's is going the Indian way. All sorts of random experiences are being clubbed under a single head. But sab chalta hai. Just like our street traffic. As a culture we lack conceptual clarity but outrage is in oversupply.

    I am also a journalist and I’m trying to do my job as ethically as possible and hoping that at least some women are helped in the process. Hope that answers your question “are you a victim” on my decision not to make a list public. I’m not stopping anyone who wants to.

    The most heartbreaking DMs are from women who see the cathartic experience of others naming their abusers with screenshots, old conversations, and tell me “It happened in a close room. I have no proof. I can’t even rage in public. Believe me it happened.”

    Ok just got a google doc of names some one collated of alleged perpetrators named in public. I’m a little shaken. Over 100, many familiar names. I’m not going to make it public. This isn’t a witch-hunt. But there will be proper follow-up. This is India’s moment.

    Read this thread. I’ve been personally told a couple of times “you take everything too seriously, he didn’t mean it like that”, completely delegitimising my discomfort.

    For all the people who claim they are afraid to talk to a woman now in office, quit exaggerating please. For years women have been iced out for minor things like not being smiling enough towards bosses. It is not banter if the person involved is deciding your appraisal.
