2/ We’ve learned that when showing the best Tweets first, people find Twitter more relevant and useful. However, we've heard feedback from people who at times prefer to see the most recent Tweets.

3/ Our goal with the timeline is to balance showing you the most recent Tweets with the best Tweets you’re likely to care about, but we don’t always get this balance right.

4/ So, we’re working on providing you with an easily accessible way to switch between a timeline of Tweets that are most relevant for you and a timeline of the latest Tweets. You’ll see us test this in the coming weeks.

5/ Meanwhile, today we updated the “Show the best Tweets first” setting. When off, you’ll only see Tweets from people you follow in reverse chronological order. Previously when turned off, you’d also see “In case you missed it” and recommended Tweets from people you don’t follow.

6/ Our plan is to eventually replace this setting when the easier-to-access switch described above is available. We’ll keep you updated and are listening to your feedback – let us know what you think!

Why are social networks so obsessed with creating tools that "show you the best content first"? I know how I want to see the content (chronologically) and how much of it do I want to see (all of it). I have no need of an algorithm that thinks it knows better than me.
-
They want to control the content you see and couldn't care less about those you follow.
-
True. I have to search for my favorites. They don't appear in my timeline. It's annoying.

I use Tweetdeck on my laptop. It shows all I want - all posts by those I chose
-
To be honest, I use Tweetdeck almost exclusively myself. But every time they announce some changes like this, I'm worried they will take it down eventually. Or change it so it also "knows best what you want to see the most".
-
I know what you mean - I used a big list on Facebook with every friend and page I wanted to follow in it but recently I am missing around 50% of what I need to see. A pain having to visit each page and "wall" in turn :(
-
FB has become essentially useless due to this. I don't see the posts I want to see (I mean it doesn't even show me half the stuff my wife posts, or shows it to me days later) and it seems like my own posts are barely ever shown to anyone as well. Nearly no point in using it now.

"the best Tweets for you based on your interactions" don't flatter yourselves
-
Can we spell feedback loop? I'm so freaking tired of getting fed tweets from the same 10 or 20 people. Of course I interact with them the most because those are THE ONLY TWEETS I see.

Cool, but can you find a way to stop users from doxxing people on your platform that doesn’t require thousands of reports and hours of waiting, exposing them to harassment and physical danger like you didn’t do today? That’d be awesome.pic.twitter.com/aOt3JUqorV

how about stop carrying our libel attacks using a mob to do your dirty work?

Cool. Post your address, your phone number and your real name here and see if you want to go it alone, big boy.
-
Wow. You have to really work to be that much of a victim. Maybe he’s not a native American English speaker ... missing the nuances doesn’t begin to cover it.

Ikr? I was seriously shocked when I looked and saw that post. Had to go back and read Sleeping's post again cause I thought I missed something
