- My Mother has written a book A True Story, How I Survived My Life wi...th a Psychopath. It shows incredible journey to overcome severe violence that could have easily claimed her life. Containing chilling evidence to support her claims, written in his own handwriting, on his business letter head and fully admitted to in court, it gives amazing insight into the horrors of his mind and what it is we are fighting against. This book is a powerful read and is vitally important as it gives incredible insight not only to the victims but to the many trying to comprehend such devastating circumstances.Contains a "how I would escape differently" guide. My Mother's struggle to put these words on paper is something that I will be forever proud of her for because this story will inspire others to the speak out against their abusers, raise much needed awareness and fight against the system that is keeping so many people trapped and in mortal danger. http://www.jacquelynwhitetruestory.com/index.html See More

Happy International Women's Day Everyone!
“Feminism(s) saved my life. Happy IWD everyday to all genders resisting and thriving despite heteropatriarchy. Honouring Indigenous sisters all across Turtle Island, nonstatus and migrant women on whose bodies exploitation is legally sanctioned, women around the world who are supposedly being liberated by imperial missions, thousands of women behind bars in prisons and detentions centers, transfolk and sex workers on the streets who w...e are told ‘had it coming’, women toiling in factories and fields to fill the consumption needs of Western capitalism, and mammas and caregivers laying roots for the next generation of rebellion. And big love to women and trans folks of colour in my life who are resisting capitalism and colonialism’s logic of isolation and competition by being as loving to each other as they are dangerous to the systems they confront.”

TW: sexual assault

"Some will be eager to tell me what happened was most definitely rape. Others will say I’m crazy to even compare it. And that’s why we need to talk about it."
You told us:
"When I speak up about sexism (meaning jokes and potty mouthed talk) at work, those doing the sexism or openly talking sexualised stuff at work started to ostracize me. My supervisor said, I was becoming labeled a complainer. I think they don't usually deal with folks asserting this point of view because sexism is so ingrained in our society. On a smoke break, I told some guy that it was sexist to describe women as beautiful. He had just said this in some context.. A women in our company at the time said, "He is right. It is sexist". The male coworker didn't see it as making sense."
You told us: "#MANifestChange has made a difference in my life by creating a starting point from which discussion & communication could begin. As survivors of domestic violence, my teen son & I sorely needed to discuss the lessons of my past-as he begins to understand the parameters of healthy relationships." Amazing!
Thanks to all who shared their stories of how they #MANifestChange and/or gave us feedback on the project. We pulled your names from a hat (true confession: I left my hat at home, so it was a recycling box) and here are our winners: Susan, Khalid, Mitchell, and Joe. Congrats! For more stories, keep an eye on FB/Twitter and come out to the event below next Tuesday:

Tx so much!
Why did our government cut funding for a program that saves millions, reduces harm, keeps our communities safer & ultimately has shown time and again to work? Any thoughts on the issue?
"The looming closures come on the heels of a $7.5-million, five-year project by the National Crime Prevention Centre, funded by Public Safety Canada, showing the support program leads to dramatic reduction in repeat sex crimes. The capacity-building and evaluation project also found that for every dollar invested in the program, it saves $4.60."
