This image is part of Essential Knowledge, a series of prints teaching basic skills for success in challenging situations. I’ve made over fifty drawings while working in three countries and gathering content from personal experience, research, and imagination. The subjects range from surviving a grizzly attack to soothing a baby, from making coffee on the road to constructing a mobile border wall. I’m slowly making each drawing into a print.

This one is all about taking my 6 month old daughter camping in the northwoods (WI) and my surprising (at least to me) ineptitude dealing with black bears.
