Steve or Steven Turner may refer to::
Chase Jarvis is an American professional photographer, director, artist, and entrepreneur.
Jarvis was born in Seattle, Washington. His father was a Seattle Police Department officer, and his mother was an administrator at a biotech company. He attended San Diego State University on a soccer scholarship, receiving a B.A. in Philosophy.
Initially, Jarvis planned to attend medical school after university. A few weeks before graduating, Jarvis's grandfather died and left all his photography equipment to his grandson. Jarvis subsequently went on a post-college trip through Europe and discovered his passion for photography. He is self-taught and has learned photography through experimenting and independent study.
In 1994, Jarvis moved to Steamboat Springs, Colorado with his girlfriend, where he began shooting photos of pro snowboarders and skiers. Jarvis licensed his first image for $500 and a pair of skis. Jarvis continued to pursue photography while studying Philosophy and Art at the University of Washington's MA/PhD program. One year before completing his Master's degree, Jarvis licensed a batch of his photos to REI that allowed him to leave academia and open his own studio, Chase Jarvis Photography.
Stephen or Steven /ˈstiːvən/ is a masculine first name, derived from the Greek name Στέφανος (Stéfanos), in turn from the Greek word "στέφανος", meaning "wreath, crown, honour, reward", literally "that which surrounds or encompasses". In ancient Greece, a wreath was given to the winner of a contest (from which the crown, symbol of rulers derived). The use of the noun was first recorded in Homer's Iliad. The name is significant to Christians: according to the Book of Acts in the New Testament, Saint Stephen was a deacon who was stoned to death and is regarded as the first Christian martyr. The name has many variants, which include Stephan, Stevan, Stefan and Stevon.
In Middle English, the name Stephen or Stephan was pronounced as a bi-syllabic word — Step-hen or Step-han — much like a Scandinavian surname. Steve was pronounced as it is in Modern English. This etymological usage began a decline in the mid-19th century.
Steve is the common short form, while various diminutives such as Stevie and Ste are also used. Many family names are derived from Stephen: the most common are Stephens/Stevens and Stephenson/Stevenson (others include Stephen, Stephan, Staphan, Stefan, Stevin and Stever).
A folk festival celebrates traditional folk crafts and folk music. The following is an incomplete list of folk festivals worldwide. This list generally excludes festivals with only a partial focus on folk music or arts, though these multi-genre festivals may be included in individual subcategories of Category:Folk festivals by country.
Folk festivals may feature folk art and folk music, with a focus on both or either, as well as folk dance or ethnic foods. Featured genres are often catered to a particular region or culture, for example Celtic festivals or maritime music festivals. Diverse regional genres of folk music are popular among modern audiences, and there are major folk music festivals in many countries. It is sometimes claimed that the earliest modern folk festival was the 1928 Mountain Dance and Folk Festival in Asheville, North Carolina, founded by Bascom Lamar Lunsford. Since then festivals have grown in size, such as the Feast of the Hunters' Moon in Indiana, which draws approximately 60,000 visitors per year. Some offshoots of folk music, such as country music and bluegrass music, have festival circuits devoted solely to the genre.

With just a few days to go until the Live Final, we were fortunate to be able to visit the BBC's The Voice band at London's Elstree studio. The band are using four Nord Stage 2 keyboards. We caught up with Musical Director David Tench and keyboard player Steve Turner at Elstree Studio's Stage 9 where they'd just completed a full day's rehearsal and filming with the singers and coaches. They were kind enough to give us a tour of the impressive set-up and talk through some of the features that have made Nord their keyboards of choice.

After leaving a job in commercial programming in 1982, Steve Turner founded ST Software, a few months later the company was renamed Graftgold after employing his friend, Andrew Braybrook, to assist him with programming duties. Turner's solo projects for Graftgold included 3D Space Wars, Astroclone, Quazatron, Ranarama and Magnetron for the ZX Spectrum. He later contributed towards most of Graftgold's later projects on the 16-bit and 32-bit platforms. 2081 depicts a dystopian future in which, thanks to the 212th Amendment to the Constitution and the unceasing vigilance of the United States Handicapper General, everyone is "finally equal...." The strong wear weights, the beautiful wear masks and the intelligent wear earpieces that fire off loud noises to keep them from taking unfair advantage of their brains. It is a poetic tale of triumph and tragedy about a broken family, a brutal government, and an act of defiance that changes everything.
