The Orangeburg Chapter of Jack and Jill of America Inc. has inducted 11 new members to the national organization.
The mission of Jack and Jill of America Inc. is to participate in cultural, educational, social and spiritual programming that will strengthen the family unit and opportunities primarily for African-American families.
The new members inducted into the chapter at Blush on May 9 were: Nedra Craig, Kimberlei Davis, Elrica Glover, Angela Ham, Dr. Kimberly Hammond, Dana Platt, Kimberly Roache, Dr. Bridget Staten, Valesta Twitty, T. Dionne Ulmer and Teetandeeahnahsee Williams.
The women have taken a pledge to live out the organization’s motto, “Let’s Work, Let’s Live, Let’s Play Together." The new members are preparing for a year of enriching activities to enhance not only the lives of their children, but the lives of children in the Orangeburg community as well.
After being formally introduced, the organization’s newest members will join in programming activities for the 2018-2019 program year. The Orangeburg chapter is under the leadership of President Tarshua Teresa Mack.
In the coming program year, the chapter will again partner with several community organizations to continue the work of making a difference in the community locally and nationally through charitable giving and community engagement.
"We are excited and proud to welcome our new moms on this journey," Mack said.
