Regime change is the replacement of one regime with another. Use of the term dates to at least 1925. Regime change may replace all or part of the state's most critical leadership system, administrative apparatus, or bureaucracy.
It can be the deliberate product of outside force, as in warfare. Rollback is the military strategy to impose a regime change by defeating an enemy and removing its regime by force. Regime change can occur through inside change caused by revolution, coup d'état or reconstruction following the failure of a state.
The transition from one political regime to another, especially through concerted political or military action - most recently seen in the regime change undergone by Tunisia.
The term has been popularized by recent US presidents. Bill Clinton and George W. Bush regularly used the term in reference to Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq. Ronald Reagan had previously called for regime change in Libya, directing the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) to work towards that goal.
Now build it up, tear it down
My finger in the strings
Connected to your hands
I dance the mockery
A theme of decadence
Now I am sinking in this violence
This time emancipation is my right
This is what I want
For you to die
This is what I want
To be alive
Scene of complacency
An apathetic mind
But when it’s brought to light
I see a king on a borrowed throne
Right now the violence taking over
This time regimes are changing in my mind
This is what I want
For you to die
This is what I want
To be alive
And I’m so sorry my old friend
I’m leaving you tonight
So caught in this moment
The last breath of your life
So sorry
This is what I want
(I am sinking in this violence)
For you to die
(Emancipation is my right)
This is what I want
(The violence taking over)
To be alive
(Regimes are changing in my mind)
So sorry to understand
So sorry to understand
So sorry to understand
