Media Education at Manhattan Neighborhood Network
Manhattan Neighborhood Network is the largest media education center in New York City. We offer Manhattan residents hands-on classes in studio and field video production, digital video editing, and more. Whether you want to learn how to create a TV program in our multi-camera studios, how to go into the field to capture a great story, how to edit your footage, or how to promote your video on social media, Manhattan Neighborhood Network has a digital media class for you.
MNN offers three types of classes: certification, advanced and workshop.
- Certification classes are available to Manhattan residents. Once you attend an Orientation and complete one of our certification classes, Manhattan residents are able to make reservations for studio, field equipment or time in our editing lab to create your own digital video or TV program.
- Advanced classes are designed to provide already certified producers with enhanced skills for all stages of production.
- Workshops are single day classes designed for either already certified producers or members of the public who want to gain new media production or promotion skills.
We also offer classes, including youth media education, at the MNN El Barrio Firehouse Community Media Center.
Please note: There is a non-refundable and non-transferable class registration fee for all certification and advanced classes at all MNN facilities. Our workshops and Mediamaker Meetup event is free and open to the public. You can pay online via credit card or you can pay in person by check, money order or credit card. To pay in person, please visit MNN's 59th St. Facility Tuesday through Friday, 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm or the MNN El Barrio Firehouse Community Media Center during business hours.
