Basic Search - Command Keyword
- Use index codes and Boolean operators (and, or, not) to find words and phrases
located in any field of the Copyright record
- Boolean terms must be used between the terms of your search
- Boolean operators AND, OR, NOT:
- AND narrows the search by requiring all terms to be found in the record
- OR broadens the search by retrieving records if one or more of the terms
is present
- NOT excludes terms from the search (use carefully, because NOT may eliminate
relevant material inadvertantly)
- Use ? for truncation: photo? finds photograph, photographic,
photographer
- Use quotation marks around phrases: "united states"
