You want to grow your user base and make Twitter worth investing in, but you are actively stopping people from experiencing Twitter the way they want. This is a terrible idea that will make you lose thousands of users.

You know, if you had a real replacement for 3rd parties using your API, then there wouldn’t be any interruption. But as is, you discontinue the local client for macOS, and so we all go to a working app, Tweetbot, which you’re attempting to brick.

I can’t believe the huge amounts of both arrogance and ignorance here. You actually believe that by bricking it, users of e.g. @tweetbot will switch to your native apps? No. They will DISCONTINUE to use your platform. You’re digging your own grave here. #BreakingMyTwitter

It’s impossible to avoid disruption, because Tweetbot or other third party clients are the only sensible way to view Twitter on a Mac.

Boo! As you well know there is no viable replacement API that will "avoid disruption"

you’re taking those products away so I’m pretty sure the apps I use will experience disruption anyway

You’ll pry Tweetbot out of my cold dead hands. The day I can no longer use third party clients is the day I leave Twitter.

Given how awful the experience in the iOS Twitter app is, it means I’ll move on from your service if I can’t keep using @tweetbot
