    The fire danger rating for the local area has decreased to high. Recent rain and cooler temperatures have lowered the fire danger; however significant moisture is still needed to reduce the potential for new fire starts and prevent spread. Full story at .

    Paving of the Gros Ventre Roundabout has taken place. Beginning tomorrow & over the course of the next few days, vehicle traffic along HWY 89/26/191 in the southern part of Grand Teton will be transitioning to a portion of the roundabout. Info:

    Reminder: Travelers in the southern area of Grand Teton should prepare for approx 15-min daytime delays & 30-min nighttime delays as construction of the Gros Ventre Roundabout continues. Delays are in addition to typical summer traffic. More Info:

    Happy Friday, the entire Moose-Wilson Road is open. Please enjoy the drive and slow down. Wildlife are active throughout the park. Remember to maintain a distance of at least 100 yards from bears and wolves, and 25 yards from other wildlife.

    Rangers will monitor the situation & reopen the road when conditions allow. Road grading will take place tonight. The unpaved section of road will close 8PM tonight & will reopen 6AM tomorrow. Visitors caught between closures will be able to exit via the unpaved section. (2/2)

    Due to bear activity, the northern section of the Moose-Wilson Rd, between the Murie Ranch JCT & the Death Canyon JCT, is temporarily closed to all visitors including motorists, cyclists, & hikers. The L.S.R. Preserve & Death Canyon Trailhead can be accessed from the south. (1/2)

    HWY traffic south bound wishing to access Gros Ventre Rd will be encouraged to travel Antelope Flats Rd or travel through the roundabout & detour approx 2 miles further south at the park entrance sign pull-through area to turn around. Info: (4/4)

    Access to the Gros Ventre Rd, including the community of Kelly & the Gros Ventre Campground, will only be available via a right turn from the HWY once traffic has partial access to the roundabout. (3/4)

    Vehicle traffic will be transitioning to a portion of the roundabout & left-hand turns onto & out of the Gros Ventre Rd from the HWY will be temporarily prohibited beginning later this week. (2/4)

    Grand Teton National Park staff will be working on the pathways within the park this week, providing routine maintenance and repairs. Impacts to cyclists and pedestrians will be minimal, but you may need to stop and walk around the work activities.

    Beginning tomorrow, 8/21 Grand Teton will initiate a project to protect native aquatic communities by using a chemical pesticide treatment to kill non-native species in the Kelly Warm Spring & outflow. A temporary closure will be implemented & signed. Info

    The entire Moose-Wilson road is open. The northern section of the road was temporarily closed due to bear activity. Please note that the unpaved section of the road is planned to be closed Wednesday night, 8 p.m. through 6 a.m. Thursday morning for road grading.

    Beginning tomorrow, the park will be conducting bridge work & bank stabilization at Spread Creek along Hwy 89, about 4 miles south of Moran JCT. Expect up to 15-min delays between 7am-7pm through the fall. Delays will occur when materials & equipment are being loaded or unloaded.

    There are no fire restrictions at this time, but everyone is asked to practice heightened fire safety at all times. Operators of unmanned aircraft systems, UAS or drones, are reminded that flying near a wildfire is prohibited, and illegal. Info: (2/2)
