Flowers, women and spring will be showcased at a Bacchus Marsh fundraiser for the McGrath Foundation throughout September.

The B-Mac Gallery opened the Beauty in Bloom exhibition at the weekend, auctioning artworks all things floral and feminine to raise money for the foundation.

Bacchus Marsh Art Council committee member Leonie Scott said the decision to raise funds for the McGrath Foundation arose because the organisation offered in-home medical support for women living with breast cancer.

“Within the local area of Melton and Bacchus Marsh and all the other surrounding towns, there are many women who have gone through breast cancer, are going through it, or will go through it in the future,” Ms Scott said.

“By choosing [to raise funds for the] McGrath Foundation, it enables young women who have families to stay at home [to receive medical care] while they’re going through this traumatic experience.”

Donation tins will be available at the gallery until the exhibition closes on September 23.

The gallery is at The Village Bacchus Marsh shopping centre.
