FWIW, I don't think this is the most responsible way of handling it. There may be devs out there aware of the deadline with plans to deploy their updates on time. You just broke their apps. Better would have been to do this on the 12th, then give a few more days.

By doing it early and only with a random sample, you potentially hurt devs rushing to meet the deadline, but miss notifying those not in the random sample. Just feedback. Hope it's helpful.
