Data Protection Executive

Reporting to a Head of Unit, the Data Protection Executive is a middle managerial role and will play an important role as a member of a team to deliver the DPC’s statutory functions and key strategic goals to improve the protection of data subjects’ rights. Successful candidate(s) will work across a range of core DPC functions, including in data protection policy, multinational supervision and technology, investigations and EU affairs.

Data Protection Legal Advisor

Reporting to a Senior Legal Advisor, the Legal Advisor is a middle managerial role responsible for providing legal advice, analysis and support, under the direction of the Senior Legal Advisor, across all areas of the DPC. The Legal Advisor will play an important role, as part of a team, in advising on the application of national and EU law and on the exercise of the DPC’s statutory functions and powers, including in relation to the conduct of enforcement actions and litigation involving the DPC.

Data Protection Team Lead

Reporting to a Deputy Commissioner, the Data Protection Team Lead is a senior managerial role responsible for leading teams and managing relevant staff to achieve key organisational goals. Successful candidate(s) will also manage the delivery of the DPC’s programmes of work and statutory functions to improve the protection of data subjects’ rights. Successful candidate(s) will have a background in law, data protection, regulation or in another relevant area. They will also have significant management experience at an appropriate level, including leading teams and managing resources. In addition, successful candidate(s) will hold a qualification of minimum Level 7 on the National Framework of Qualifications.

Senior Legal Advisor

Reporting to the Head of Legal, the Senior Legal Advisor is a senior managerial role responsible for collaborating with other members of the Legal Division on specific projects and providing legal advice and support to other divisions of the DPC. Successful candidate(s) will also advise on the correct interpretation of case law and apply principles-based legislation to everyday scenarios.

Successful candidate(s) will be enrolled as a Solicitor or Barrister in the State and will have a track record of providing the highest quality legal advice in a fast-paced environment managing multiple projects. They will also have significant experience of advising on privacy and data protection matters in private or public sector areas.
