After 13 years, the crippling sanctions imposed on Iraq have finally been lifted. Unfortunately this is one of the few good things to come out of the "liberation" of Iraq and the benefits must be balanced with the fact that the UN Security Council Resolution which lifted them also legitimises the US/UK invasion and will simply make it easier for the occupying forces to exploit Iraq's resources.

Aaargh! Exam stress alert! Bloomin' internet's distracting me again. Anyway, this is supposed to be my space to rant about stuff, so why not start with the US/UK occupation of Iraq? Even better just check out the following link yourselves:

http://www.idao.org/ - Iraqi Democrats Against Occupation
Apparently the US Government have also decided that the Iraqis should pay of Saddam's debts (all $400 billion odd of them). To find out more/do something about this see: http://www.jubileeiraq.org
