In my opinion, by claiming that the Pak jets attempted to target Indian military installations, the Indian Govt has no choice but to treat said action as an act of war -- it leaves itself no choice but to respond. The captive IAF pilot complicates but doesn't rule out escalation.

Confirmed. Very sad. This crash was a Mi-17 V5 helicopter. There was likely a technical malfunction (expect Pak to claim they shot it down, but very unlikely). Four killed in this accident, reports

Natural in wake of Pulwama to celebrate today’s air strikes in
#Balakot. But let’s remind ourselves that our true aim should be to fix things such that we never *need* to send pilots on such missions again. That should be the endgame here. My view.#IndiaStrikesBackThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo -

Multiple claims from verified handles that the Mirage 2000s are HAL-built and therefore an endorsement of HAL. Silly & ill-informed. HAL has done many good things & is a very competent company — it just so happens that it has never built Mirage 2000s. Plainly factually wrong!
