Sirota won the breaking news award from the Society of American Business Editors and Writers for his team’s series on the Republican tax bill and the so-called “Corker Kickback.”

Sirota’s reporting on the GOP tax bill was the centerpiece of the lead editorial of the New York Times on the day of the vote, and MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell said it was “extraordinary reporting” that “has really helped me understand what’s in this legislation, more than any other reporting I’ve seen.”

Sirota’s new show will focus on the intersection of politics, business and culture.

Sirota’s investigative series on healthcare mergers was lauded by articles in the Columbia Journalism Review and Esquire magazine.

Sirota won a “Best in Business” award for investigative journalism from the Society for American Business Editors and Writers.

David Sirota and Naomi Klein were named the 2015 winners of the Izzy Award from Ithaca College’s Park Center for Independent Media.
