Most students do not need to apply to graduate.
We keep track of your academic progress and will advise you once you have completed your course requirements and are eligible to graduate.
- Higher Education students: you will receive an invitation to graduate approximately 6 weeks prior to the next round of graduation ceremonies.
- TAFE students: you will receive completion documentation through the post upon completion of your course.
You will only need to apply to graduate if you are enrolled in a course and wish to exit with a lower (alternate) award, or you completed your course prior to 2015.
Higher Education students
Your eligibility to graduate is conditional on:
- having completed & passed all assessment requirements for the course
- results being officially published
- having no outstanding fees or fines.
When your completion is confirmed by your College, you will receive a Notification of Completion via email.
This will be followed up by an invitation to graduate which you will receive several weeks prior to the next graduation ceremony.
TAFE students
Your eligibility to graduate is conditional on:
- having completed & passed all assessment requirements for the course
- results being officially published
- having no outstanding fees or fines
- having a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI).
When your completion is confirmed, you will receive a Notification of Completion via email. The Notifications of Completion are sent on the 22nd of each month, followed by your Testamur and academic transcript via post within 10 working days.
Early/Alternate Exit
You only need to apply to graduate if you are enrolled in a course and wish to exit this course with a lower (alternate) award. You will need to complete the Application for an Award Alternate Exit form.
Completed before 2015
If you completed a course prior to 2015 and haven't graduated please lodge a query through AskVU, provide your course details and completion date and enquire if you are eligible to graduate.
