    Everyone is entitled to intimate , even very, very bad people. Barring rare circumstances (e.g. depiction of crime), private naked photos should remain private. Confident will enforce its policies against , no matter the target

    When states pass laws that require an intent to harass, they just duplicate existing, ineffective harassment laws. An effective law must recognize that the fundamental harm of nonconsensual porn is a violation of privacy, not harassment.

    As 's 2017 study shows, 79% of perpetrators do not act with the intent to harass their victims. They have other motivations, including gaining social status or providing "entertainment." Their victims suffer no less.

    Kudos to for her effort to finally criminalize nonconsensual pornography in Nebraska. But punishing only perpetrators motivated by harassment or financial gain will deny justice to the majority of victims.

    Cases like this is why I brought LB164, NE's first bill to ban revenge pornography, sharing intimate photos without someone’s consent. I support a full investigation of this very serious offense, and I will work to bring Nebraskans the same protection against revenge porn.
