    One more possible reason Twitter hasn't banned Alex Jones: There is no real reason. They're just making it up as they go along, the same as everybody else.

    This is the trillion-dollar question.

    Curious whether close Hill-watchers think there’s any serious Republican interest in messing with 230 or whether it’s (as I suspect) just pre-midterm demagoguery. App-layer regulation was (R) anathema up until 2016; the orthodox view is that even ISPs should be able to filter.

    I think (1) is the most likely, but (2) is the most intriguing. The GOP threat to Section 230 is small but growing, and right now it is focused heavily on Twitter. See, for instance:
