HAPPY NEW YEAR 2013!!

My last blogpost for this year 2012. Hmmmp? Definitely, not an interesting and productive year for me in blogging due to my busy schedule. Hopefully this coming 2013, I'll get to have time blogging again.  It's just that in the past year music blogs were monitored regarding downloads so I decided not to upload that much music anymore due to this DMCA thing. Of course, this new look of Blogger's Dashboard whenever I create a blogpost gave me some difficulty to navigate. Nevertheless, maybe 2013 would be a different year in the aspect of music blogs. I've seen a lot of these music blogs closed down already whether it be Pop Culture or the Obscure Ones.  Well, rest assure "DocMuzic" aka. "The Doctor Is In" will still be here for those who still visits  this blog of mine which will be turning 6 years old this upcoming year. THANKS EVERYONE!! HAVE A HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!! NOBODY REMEMBERS THEIR FIRST DOWNLOAD. Well, I don't....so how about you? A challenging photo for today's age of Downloadable Music. Hmmmp? I guess it's not challenging right? Let's just say "BORING". Times have change indeed, but for collectors like me It's still best to own the real copy of the music on Vinyl, CD, or Cassette Tape. CLASSIC FORMATS that's now forgotten by the new generation. So if you are a true music lover, collector or even a sound tripper please do get the official and original materials. Unless, you wanna brag about your mp3 collections just to be called "cool" then it's pointless to do so if you get my drift. Let's continue the passion of listening and collecting the REAL STUFFS and avoid PIRACY.

"The Doctor Is In" is FIVE YEARS OLD!!

HELLO EVERYONE!! The Doctor Is Still In this 2012 and today is my blog's 5th Birthday!! YUP!! You got it right Amigos, Friends, and Kabayans!! This humble blog of mine is FIVE YEARS OLD Today August 24, 2012 and time flies so fast indeed. Hmmp? Just imagine, I created this blog wayback 2007 and It's still alive until now with all the changes happening in the world. Well, even though I haven't been blogging that much this year 2012 due to other priorities and being busy in about everything, I still misses creating unique and cutting edge blogposts especially pertaining to my kind of music, passion and anything under the sun. Nevertheless, I will still try my best to update this little blog of mine starting this time since it just reminded me to do so by celebrating It's 5th Birthday in the Blogosphere. So what's my Blogpost Header Photo for today? It's a Birthday Balloon I got from my niece who celebrated her Birthday recently and that's a children's book about numbers and I just turned the page that featured the "# 5". Just "The Dr. Stirring Rhod Way" of celebrating a silent Blog Birthday Party. He He He!! I just realized that "The Doctor Is In" is already "Half A Decade Old" at this moment. Any significance? Just a sort of a Diary I may say. If you want to read my previous Anniversary Blogposts then just look for "Anniversary" on my "INFORMATION SOCIETY (LABELS)" at the lower right side of my blog and prepare to travel back in time when my blog celebrated all It's Birthdays and of course watch and listen to the Birthday Songs I featured back then. Hopefully, we will still be here in the blogosphere by 10 years, 15 years, 20 years or even beyond. I wonder what would the Internet look like 25 years from now. Naaahhh!! Will 2012 be really the end of world as we know it? Who knows? Let me take this opportunity to thank those who still visits my blog after all these years. THANKS for the unending support!!

DOLPHY R.I.P.

COMEDY KING "DOLPHY" was laid to rest this afternoon at Heritage Park. He passed away at 8:34 p.m. last July 10, 2012 after his long battle with progressive illness Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). The whole FILIPINO community gave their last respect for this great icon of Philippine Cinema. Just my little blogpost tribute who made everyone laugh and cry. A rare breed of humility in the true sense. Well, it has been a DOLPHY TRIBUTE everywhere here in the Philippines and definitely he deserves to be a NATIONAL ARTIST. I have a lot of fond memories of DOLPHY regarding his films and television sitcoms. I may say that he really made me laugh. He was indeed "THE COMEDY KING". May you Rest In Peace Sir RODOLFO VERA QUIZON, SR. I have included two theme songs in this blogpost of mine for you to listen and watch. YUP!! Let's remember JOHN PURUNTONG of JOHN AND MARSHA and KEVIN COSME of HOME ALONG THE RILES, two of the longest running comedy sitcoms of DOLPHY.

THE RECORD IS NOT OVER YET!!

In the age of i-pods, mp3s, and downloadable digital music; collectors like me still considers the Vinyl Record as the ultimate source of quality music. Kids of today are not anymore into these stuffs that used to spin on the turntables of their Dads and Moms and even their Grandpas and Grandmas. Whatever the case is; nothing beats the sound of Vinyl. Well if you have your own music collection and you don't have any Vinyl Records on it, I guess that's a quite an empty collection even though you display on your site your CD collections the same way I do in the concept format the way I took photos of some of my CD collection..... like "My _____ CD collection", then that's something to ponder about right. Naaaahh!! Copycats will always be copycats!. Ha Ha Ha!! Good thing they cannot copy "My Vinyl Records" thing. No matter what the younger generation of today would say about Digital Music....still nothing beats the VINYL RECORD. That's why up until now I still collect Vinyl Records and It's still my priority. Go away mp3s please!!!!! Get out downloadable music!!!!! No offense, but this is true indeed!!




Definitely, I loudly applaud and respect DJs who really use Vinyl Records on their mixes and not those digital music. Btw, I included an interesting video about "VINYLMANIA" and I love the quote"YOU DON'T OWN ANYTHING WHEN YOU BUY A DOWNLOAD, YOU DON'T OWN A DOWNLOAD!!!" Very TRUE indeed!! So where does the music industry lead to the future? I just don't want to know. My thoughts or afterthoughts? Utot, you want? Ha Ha Ha!! Owning a download? Naaaahhhh!! I have a great passion on collecting Vinyl Records and so I ultimately respect Vinyl Record Collectors especially those who bought records back on those days like me when these ancient artifacts were a hit. He He He!! So what do you call sites that share mp3s without really having the real stuffs? Hmmmmp? As if they have the materials on hand just finding out that it's just another bunch of downloadable music which they only got from other sites and they don't have the real things on their own vaults. Wheeeeew!! This is not a myth.... this is reality. No terminology available for that either. Ha Ha Ha!!




So what else are you waiting for? Get yourself a Vinyl Record today and tomorrow because you are missing a lot!!

IT'S FEBRUARY 29, 2012

Hello everyone!! Today is February 29, 2012 and the date "February 29" only comes by every four years and since It's Leap Year this year 2012 then It's a great honor for me to present a simple blogpost for today. YUP!! This is my second "February 29 Blogpost" here in the Blogosphere. You got it right!! My first one was wayback February 2008 and this was during the early years of my humble blog "The Doctor Is In" or better known also as "Docmuzic". WHEEEW!! That was Four Years ago. Hmmmp? I just realized that my blog will turn Five Years old this August 2012. Time just flies so fast and I'm just glad after all these years I'm still in the blogosphere. He He He!! I just wanna THANK everyone who still check my "blogspot.com" which is often imitated and never duplicated. Copying is still the best form of Flattery right? Well, my blogspot is still The One and Only ORIGINAL PINOY 80s/ NEW WAVE At Iba Pa Blogspot that's CUT ABOVE THE REST!! Ha Ha Ha!! So do always join me in the quest to travel back in time. O.M.D. LIVE in MANILA

Well, KABAYANS here it goes again another of our NEW WAVE HEROES coming over here in MANILA. YUP!! This time It's O.M.D. and It's not "Oh My Doctor" okay!! Ha Ha Ha!! It's O.M.D. "Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark" LIVE IN MANILA on March 12, 2012 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. So I guess It will be another trip down memory lane for all PINOY NEW WAVERS. Definitely, a treat for music lovers and music collectors like me. So travel into time when Vinyl Records spins on radio stations and dance floors. That's the 80s!! Unless if you don't have any Vinyl Records left in your collection then I might be talking aliens here. MORRISSEY in MANILA?

News have been coming out here in the Philippines for a possible MORRISSEY CONCERT here in MANILA. Well according to the fansite "True To You" Morrissey now is setting his sights on Asia and New Zealand, and is also expected to tour Japan followed by concerts in Thailand,South America, and of course my beloved country the Philippines. Hmmmp? That's interesting don't you think KABAYANS? Then again, we will just wait for the final plans since If there are still no tickets then there is no concert right? PINOY NEW WAVERS are still hoping for the best. My Blogpost header Photo seems to show how much thinking Morrissey is doing regarding his Philippine Concert. He He He!! Just cross our fingers guys and it will be really good to see the front man of "THE SMITHS" performing "LIVE" here in Manila. I wonder if there would really be a reunion of "THE SMITHS"? Naaaah!! In our dreams right? Just making this blog makes me think of how much would his concert be here in Manila. Waaaaah!! I bet it will be EXPENSIVE and so save for the rainy day okay.

CYNDI LAUPER LIVE in MANILA

According to "EXUDE"... "Boys Just Wanna Have Sex", but for the original song.... It's CYNDI LAUPER and "GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN"!! This will be her second time here in MANILA performing LIVE. YUP!! I saw her performed back in 1989 at The FOLK ARTS THEATER on her "NIGHT TO REMEMBER TOUR '89", and It was definitely one of the memorable concerts I've watched back in the 80s. Well, I'm watching her again perform LIVE and this time at the SMART Araneta Coliseum. YUP!! "Cyndi Lauper Live in Manila!" on March 17, 2012 and where else but the latest venue of great 80s artist at SMART Araneta Coliseum. So KABAYANS, get ready to dance and go back in time again with the little girl that has a lot of Wrestlers as bodyguards back in the 80s. Remember that? Ha Ha Ha!! I just love the beat of her music and it just make you wanna dance to the groove. I guess in this time of digital music where people goes Gaga with Lady Gaga, you gotta go back to the basics when Vinyl Record really ruled. The memories of it are still very fresh and if you're only a CD collector and better yet a Pirated CD collector then who knows what you've missed if you know what I mean. He He He!!
