Aden, Yemen - UNDP Yemen, in partnership with Oxfam, is conducting a series of Community Protection workshop for 300 beneficiaries from the targeted districts of Craiter, Attawahi and Mualla in Aden with the funding support from Government of Japan.
Yemen along with its people have been suffering from a tragedy of a war that seems to be everlasting. Obviously, this war has left a tremendous impact on Yemenis quality of life, and definition of basic needs. Many have lost their jobs and lives while many others have been agonized due epidemics and diseases that have widespread since 2016. Devastating situation has also left a catastrophic impacts on the education in the country. Kids are demotivated to go to far away schools under burning sun. People not getting salaries just adds insults to injuries; malnutrition, poverty, and lack of basic needs has made life so intolerable.
YECRP aims to mitigate the impact of the current crisis on Yemeni local households and communities and assist their recovery.

Our Results - 2016
Since March 2015, Yemen has experienced intensive conflict in most of the governorates. The escalation is a follow up to the crisis that started in September 2014 when a large part of the territory, including Sana’a, the capital city, were taken over by militia. In July 2015, Yemen was declared an L3 emergency as the conflict resulted in an unprecedented humanitarian crisis.
How we work
We conduct our initiatives directly and indirectly through implementing parteners which community organizations, public services and institutions, private sector, civil society organizations. Building our partners ability to deliver basic services will be a critical part of UNDP activities in Yemen.
What We Do
UNDP in Yemen aims to restore livelihoods, social cohesion and security, reflecting a minimum of conditions necessary for resilience while focusing on the community level.
In this regard, our priorities for Yemen are: Supporting a Peaceful Solution; Economic Recovery; Restoring Basic Services; Preparing the Ground; and Empowerment of vulnerable groups:
