Wedding guests choose to stay at Can Rigall Pyrenees
Where mountains meet sea
to sleep, perchance to dream.
Follow a private and winding mountain road to its very end and the pure air, natural solitude, and arresting view of the high Pyrenees will whisper words of peace to your being. When your sights fall upon our ancient stone estate resting beneath the light of a southern sun, you’ll feel as if you’ve finally made it home. Which is no wonder, as a home is our name at Can Rigall or Home of Rigall in Catalan.
Patiently restored, stone upon stone, from a 300-year-old Catalan farmstead, Can Rigall marries chic modernity with history and authenticity. Here you’ll find luxury comfort with no shortage of grandeur—where simplicity and casual elegance set the scene for your personal restoration.
At Can Rigall, our hope is to maintain a delicate balance between modern comfort and design, respect for history, people, and tradition, and a sincere reverence for the complexity of the natural world. In short, we aim to be the premier eco-luxury hotel in the South of France.
Looking to the future, the estate generates its energy from renewable sources combining solar, wind and biofuel. As a showcase boutique hotel, we’re leading the way in responsible travel, sustainable travel and green travel with the largest privately owned solar park in Languedoc-Roussillon.
Looking to history, we patiently restored a 300-year old Catalan farmstead, preserving its authenticity, and thus telling its story. We also look to the past in the way we manage the hotel and gardens following ancient traditions that today go by names like organic, bio-dynamic, sustainable, free-range or chemical free. Though these are new words, the practices themselves are steeped in the past. Our natural olive oil soap was most likely used by your grandmother. The fresh and flavorful tastes of our organic tomatoes were certainly enjoyed by your ancestors.
Looking to nature, Can Rigall is surrounded by 142 hectares of wilderness. It’s awe-inspiring view of the rugged Pyrenees displays the phenomenal work of mother nature and cultivates a lasting respect in all who visit.
