BJP City Chief Sanjay Tandon casts vote along with his family

Thanks Chandigarh voters for turning out in large numbers to vote in support of BJP-SAD candidates

Chandigarh, December 18, 2016: Sanjay Tandon, Chandigarh BJP President today along with his family members casted their vote at Sector 18 Government Girls Senior Secondary School here at 8:30 a.m. Tandon was accompanied by his wife Priya Tandon, son Saransh Tandon, his wife Umang Tandon, son Shiven Tandon and the youngest son, Satyam Tandon.

The BJP city Chief while commenting on the large turnout said, “It was encouraging to note so many people turning out to vote for the MC elections. I thank the Chandigarh voters who exercised their right to vote in favour of BJP-SAD candidates. 

He said the results on 20th will show the outcome which will be in favour of the BJP as people want development which they have seen in the last 10 months during BJP tenure in the Municipal Corporation.”

Sanjay Tandon also visited different polling booths in all wards to take note of the arrangements there and to ensure no problems were being faced there by voters. As Tandon led the front in the election campaign for all party candidates, he visited polling stations in all 26 wards today.


Tandon remained active on social media as his Facebook page was updated every 10 to 15 minutes with pictures of his wherever he went. During the afternoon when the polling percentage was dropped, Tandon uploaded a video requesting the city residents to come out and vote. 

Mayor issues legal notice to Cong candidate for using defamatory campaign

Chandigarh, December 17, 2016: Arun Sood, City Mayor today issued a legal notice to Rajesh Sharma, Congress candidate from ward number 8 and Dainik Bhaskar, Hindi daily for defamatory propaganda against him. 
Sood in his notice to the candidate and newspaper stated that a pamphlet giving appearance of a newspaper was inserted in Dainik Bhaskar on Saturday and circulated in ward 8 from where Arun Sood is contesting on BJP candidate. 

Sood has said most of the news items in the pamphlet are from Dainik Bhaskar, and are against the BJP candidate.
 These pamphlets, he has complained, were circulated this morning in Sectors 37 and 38, and amounts to defamation.

Says Chandigarh voter is intelligent and will give a befitting reply to Cong

Chandigarh, December 17, 2016: Sanjay Tandon, Chandigarh BJP President today took on the Congress on the statement made by former Congress MP, Pawan Kumar Bansal on the issue of giving voting rights to the nominated councillors. Tandon said during last three times Congress has enjoyed the power on strength of the nominated councillors.

 “This time the government in the central government is of BJP and now Congress is raising this kind of an issue”, he said, adding the common man in Chandigarh knows that BJP will win in these elections and shall be capturing all seats of Mayor, Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

 “They are now realizing their mistakes and intelligent people of Chandigarh will give a befitting to double speak of the Congress”, said Tandon.


Tandon was reacting to the statement made by Bansal in which he had ‘admitted’ that he is to be blamed on the issue of giving voting rights to the nominated councillors even when the constitution did not allow any voting rights to nominated councillors.

Chandigarh, December 17, 2016: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chandigarh State President, Sanjay Tandon reached out to more than 2 lakh people of Chandigarh through audio messages to appeal to people to come out and vote in favour of BJP-SAD candidates in MC polls on Sunday, December 18.


Over 10,000 people of Chandigarh were reached through emails and another 10,000 through video messages. The people of city have been appealed to vote for BJP for holistic development of the city, and to strengthen the central leadership under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India.
