The following is a list of characters from the Japanese manga and anime Black Lagoon.

Rokuro Okajima (岡島緑郎, Okajima Rokurō), also known as Rock (ロック, Rokku), is the male protagonist of the series. He was a Japanese salaryman for Asahi Industries in Tokyo until he was taken hostage by the crew of the Black Lagoon during their raid on the ship he was on. He joined the Lagoon Company after his department chief Kageyama abandoned him (Kageyama declared him dead) in an attempt to cover up the smuggling operation in which Rock had been an unwitting participant. Rock is a humble and mild-mannered person despite being on the business end of guns from friend and foe alike, and often seems surprised at the barbarity of the Southeast Asian crime world. He still wears his tie, short-sleeved dress shirt, and dress pants because although now a pirate, he still retains his business persona. He prefers to use words over weapons when interacting with others. Rock, after joining the Lagoon company, has wondered if he is experiencing Stockholm syndrome.

Plot: Santo and Pal left South America in search of the American dream. They were smuggled into Mexico on a "bluff truck". Both took a job in a scrap metal plant in Escobedo, Mexico where they managed to save a bit of money in hopes of making their way into the United States. In Escobedo, there was a figure known as "The Ghost". He was the go to source for those who wished to cross the border. However, there was a price to pay. He was known to be ruthless and would often allow people to give him a down payment to get into America, with a promise to send the remainder, plus interest. Santo and Pal desperately wanted a way into America and sought out "The Ghost". They had enough for a down payment and figured that once in America, they'd get well paying jobs. Smuggled in an airplane parts truck and dumped off at a truck stop near Houston, they hitchhiked and jumped trains eventually making it to the northeast. The film begins in a rundown apartment in Bridgeport, CT where Santo and Pal are awakened by a video camera and gun. X, hired by "The Ghost", takes Santo and Pal hostage and explains that he is there to collect their payment, with interest. Not having the money, Santo and Pal are terrified. X tells them that if they are willing to make a little film, it will help alleviate their debt. In an act of desperation, they agree.

Genres: Drama,Roberta, you say you know me
But I see only what you're paid to show me
Oh, I wish you had the time
Oh, I wish you had the time

It's tough for me, it's tough for you
Roberta, how I've adored you

It's tough for me, ah, it's tough for you
And I'm in a bad way and wanna make love to you, ooh, ooh
Oh, I wish you had the time
Oh, I wish you had the time
Oh, Roberta, I really need you
But I suppose that my small change won't see you through;
It's tough for me, ah, it's tough for you
