So let’s get this straight: Margaret Hodge, whose relatives were murdered in the Holocaust, raises concerns about racism towards her community in our party. Instead of engaging with her concerns, supposed party supporters seek to tear her character apart. Are these people for real?

  5. The Liaison Committee is the committee of all the Select Committee chairs. It is the only committee that can call the PM to give evidence & we will be hearing from on Wed 18th 3pm

  7. Who is taking responsibility for failing to honour the pairing agreement for who is on maternity leave? More than just an extension of the other heavy handed tactics on display, it disrespects women and why maternity leave matters.

This is extraordinary. The US President said a hostile foreign power - one that has killed 298 in a plane, 1000s in Ukraine and used chemical weapons in the UK at least twice - is more trustworthy than the intelligence agencies of his own country.

  16. Those of us who wanted to give the Govt the opportunity to get through a pragmatic deal have now seen that fatally undermined by ERG, so there is really no point continuing to support it.

  17. So a government minister is forced to resign tonight in order to vote for government’s own white paper. PM may be in Office but it seems the ERG is in power.

  18. Nonsense Iain, my point is that hard Brexiteers need to stop pretending that there wouldn’t be shared rule books with other trade deals. We would be junior partner in US trade deal forced to accept lower standards on farming.

  20. Those pushing for ideological version of ‘clean’ need to explain how they would deal with the realities of protecting jobs, supply chains & safety. Instead of sabotaging this pragmatic White Paper they shd be honest about the actual risks of their no-deal Brexit
