The man with a broken leg is on route to Manus airport. He should fly to Port Moresby soon. However there is no guarantee he will recieve proper medical treatment there. Medical neglect is one of the tools immigration uses to torture innocent people.

Australia's system of indefinite detention is deliberately breaking refugees hearts & minds & crushing their hopes. It has exported cruelty to the world & shown that the policy of racism can divide people and win votes. We have struggled in this system for 5 years now.

Just one small point "The court has found that Hamid's death was perventable. I'm sure that if there were independent investigations into the deaths on Manus and Nauru people would be shocked at how the Australian government has killed these inoccent people.

Breaking news - "Abdi has just now left
#Manus camp and is on the way to the airport. He said to thank everyone who fought for him to get treatment. He appreciates your care about him. He said, 'really, I can't thank you enough'."@ManusAlert -
#Manus Abdi is now resting. Each movement causes tremendous pain as the knee is jostled each time. He has asked that his thanks be extended to everyone who has been concerned for him & helped him to get an XRay after being forced to wait a full week. -
An important article about the book No Friend but the Mountains: Writing From Manus Prison. In this article the translator analyses the different intellectual and cultural frameworks operating in the book and the various ways it can be read.

#Manus & on way to the airport. After suffering for 8 days, at last there is hope he will be pain free soon. To the hundreds of good people who tried so hard to help, Abdi says 'Can't thank you enough'. pic.twitter.com/IqnwOw4v6QShow this thread -
With the millions being thrown at
#Manus and PNG every month, would it be too difficult for them to provide an interpreter for the men when they go to their medical appointments and have to sign consent forms?? -

No more deaths Peter Dutton. No more calculated destruction of lives, health and hope. No more imprisoning innocent people seeking asylum and refugees. Close the Camps and free them NOW!

#Manus Fighting to get Abdi with his broken knee even basic treatment has left me angry, sick & sad. During those 8 days, Australia fought to stop 2 more critically ill children having urgent treatment & coroner reported on the killing of Hamed Khazaei. https://www.eurekastreet.com.au/article.aspx?aeid=56136 …pic.twitter.com/UEjElQgaYIShow this thread -
After being told that Abdi would be transferred to PM for medical care for his badly injured leg today it didn’t happen, that poor man

"The only treatment he has been given is 20 Panadol tablets and 10 Naproxen tablets and bandage for leg. These are not helping him. See the photos to see how badly his knee is broken."

"To conclude the case for Abdi there is no sleep, no rest, no walking, no shower, hard to go toilet. He must also cook his own food because there are no food services in East Lorengau Refugee Processing Centre (ELRTC). Everything here is self-service."
