  12. Our investigation concluded that incorrectly reported what it spent at the EU referendum. It exceeded its statutory spending limit and delivered incomplete and inaccurate spending and transaction returns. Our report is here:

    The Commission concluded that Leave.EU failed to include money in its spending return, did not correctly report the receipt of £6 million worth of regulated transactions from Mr Arron Banks, paid for services from the US campaign strategy firm Goddard Gunster but failed to report this, failed to include spending of £77,380 to Better for the Country Limited, and failed to provide required invoices for 97 payments

  14. We have fined £70,000 for offences committed under electoral law, following our investigation into the campaigner’s funding and spend during the EU referendum. Read our press release:

    “The rules we enforce were put in place by Parliament to ensure transparency and public confidence in our democratic processes.
